Just did two rounds of music rally whilst it finished downloading. Looks and feels very nice based on ten minutes. Now watching season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen in standard definition and it seems a bit lacking in comparison.

Yeah I’m just doing those three music rally things. I guess you pre-loaders might skip right past this.
Oh man though this feels good to play. I’m not sure I agree with some reviews that the physics are a sim revolution over Sport though; it’s iteratively better. It’s still GT. Maybe it just feels revolutionary if you haven’t played since the PS3.
Or maybe I have a rude awakening in store when I get to the super cars.

Just realised that it’s actually downloading the rest of the game, not installing it from disc. So unless you only want to play three music rally events, there is absolutely no reason to buy physical on this one. Unless it’s cheaper

You using a wheel? Most of the people I've seen saying the physics are a big step up are sim racers with wheel setups.

I have spun out a few times and the way the weight transfer comes across feels right when the car finds grip again. This might be the best HDR I’ve ever seen. My TV is HDR but it's not a great HDR set. I could try it but it's excellent as a 4k screen. Samsung ku6400 series. A few years old now. |

Been playing a few hours. This is exactly what I wanted from GT - a really comfy experience with loads of detail. Plenty of callbacks to earlier games, too. I had to laugh when I saw what they gave me for getting all golds in National B licence tests, as that was one of the classic cars you would choose in GT1. Old music coming back and being remixed is really nice too. The intro is really special, feels like something you'd have as an ending, never mind the intro.

Yeah I smiled at the GTO too, I think everybody bought that car in GT1.
FYI guys I recommend turning off ray tracing. I thought it would be fine but the constant switching between 30 and 60fps is actually really annoying.
And I’ll just say it: I can’t tell the difference

Ah thanks for that. I did one of the Sunday cup classic events and used the GTO that I won. Didn't think it would let me use it given the competition so I'll play fair and use the classic mini I won from doing that instead.
Another thing to note, engine sound seems better. One of the license test used the newer Honda Civic and I thought it sounded rather good. Did like how the car showed vibration in the cockpit as I was running it out over the kerb.
Everything so far is a step up from GTsport.

I'd already watched the intro on YouTube and then discovered you couldn't skip it the first time when watching a streamer.
Took a few goes but I had to get gold on Hooked on Classics to start my GT7 career, missed it by .1 mile first go, then .02 and finally got 5.55.

I've given up on cockpit view already. Not only is it awkward as ever, you miss out on a huge portion of the visuals outside the car because of the effect of the windscreen. I'm half tempted to use chase cam for a bit the car models are so good.

Woke up early like a kid at Christmas. Can't believe the crackpots started with that music rally thing. The handling is fantastic. Unbelievable how much informational feedback they've managed to get into the haptics.
