Seems to be some saying it's all rolling starts and others saying it has grid starts too. Be utterly ridiculous if they're not in there. Especially as the AI is supposed to be good in grid racing.

I can't seem to pre-order GT7 in the PS Store, I get an error message "Something went wrong", whether I'm trying to order the Standard or Premium game.

Fuck yeah, great news. I don't mind rolling starts for nothing races, but some grid starts in the more serious events would be very welcome.

GT7 has a more stable framerate than real life I will say I've always thought it weird that the GT tracks always have near pristine asphalt. A few tyre marks would make it look a bit less flat.

Today(ish) is the day. I've told myself I'll give myself a limit of 1am to try this tonight with work tomorrow. Reality is probably closer to 1 race and fucking off to bed in defeat at 12.20.

I usually prefer arcade racers and haven't played a GT game since the PS2 days, but watching the videos I just couldn't help myself and went straight to the PS Store to download.
Now I just have to find time to play it.

I've gone physical for some reason which means I won't be playing jack shit until tomorrow evening. At least I can't be tempted to have an all nighter on a school night.

The Team VVV guy has a massive issue with it but he's said the asphalt is a lot more marked in the full game.

I'm surprised they showcased Willow Springs to be honest. As well as the asphalt I think GT has always looked a little flat on plain track sides too, be it plains of grass or desert, and it doesn't look like they've managed to fix it this time either. Might be the PS4 holding it back but IMO they've never cracked how to texture a plain expanse of land and make it look good. On the other hand I think most games fix this by adding a load of trackside decoration and I'm glad they wouldn't do that.

There isn't a camera position I love in GT. I miss a sort of 'forward cockpit' view, just behind the windscreen. What view do you people use?

I generally use cockpit in any racing game. GT always has a good one.
The chase camera in GT is awful though. I don’t know how anyone uses that. The way it’s anchored feels like the world is moving around you.

Yeah exactly, and the bumper cam the same. Just watching the Giant Bomb quick look and he's in bumper cam. It still looks so weird.

I normally use cockpit in any game for the first few hours to marvel at the interiors, until I realise you can see bugger all cos the view is too far back. At which point I switch to bumper in a more sim style game like GT or FM, or furthest chase cam in something like FH.

In Sport I think I generally went for the one where you just see the track and the two dials.

It's still not ideal but you can definitely improve visibility a lot. But yeah I ended up using the one with the dials and road mainly.

I’m so conditioned to cockpit views now, I feel like I can’t judge the position of the car or my braking points properly without using it.

Bumper cam is too low for me, I use bonnet cam or whatever it’s called.

I'm never sat relative to how I would be in a car in cockpit view so it feels quite alien to me. Never knew you could zoom in and shit though so might be worth a go. I too miss that view that gives you most of the front of the car, rather than just a little bit of bumper like it does these days.

I like cockpit view in theory, but let's be honest you see way less of the environment than you would in the cockpit of a real car.

Exactly. I love it from a graphical standpoint but the lack of movement combined with the fact they all seem to act as if Warwick Davis is in the cockpit makes me hate actually using it.
