That Team VVV video just made me mess myself. Front or back?

Yeah I'm gonna pre order this later. I'm not a car enthusiast, I'm hoping that the game is quite lenient for someone like me , but it does sound charming and I love racing games with big single player content as a nice cozy kind of game to relax too.

Hope it's still got the cone markers for braking like in GT Sport, much better way of learning the course than a shitty racing line. Not seeing them in any of the videos.

Yeah, I am not big on car sims, much prefer an arcade racer. But the shinies and solid single player mode make me want to play it. I might wait for a sale in 6 months or so.

I love the care and ridiculous attention to detail that has gone into all the car models, that I am never going to pay the slightest attention to.
Sorry, Polyphony… :/

For anyone who has gone digital and is sitting there smugly thinking that they’re downloaded and ready…
A 4.5GB patch has appeared.

It sure looks fantastic, but I remain pretty sceptical about the underlying physics. The cars look unnaturally stiff and wooden over curbs and bumps in the footage DF just uploaded. Also, collisions look quite strange with cars sort of bouncing apart.
I love the carPG aspects of GT games but I've always found the actual driving with a wheel and pedals a bit unconvincing. Hopefully, it will be significant step up on GT Sport. I'll await some reviews from the various sim racing nerds on youtube before forking out I think.

When will they include motorbikes in this sort of game?

Wasn't Tourist Trophy their answer to bikes? Never played it but it seemed like the idea died off quickly.

Sounds like they've really upped the the sim level of the handling. Can see a few people bouncing off it.

Yeah I'm seeing a lot of high praise for the Dualsense implementation. In particular a few accounts of it being a lot better than even WRC, which is quite something.

I've been kind of surprised how good it is for the driving in Cyberpunk. Good sign that it seems to not need a great deal of work to implement.

Sigh, I really need to stop buying games, I bought elden ring last night. Fuck it, guess I'm buying this on the weekend. Mostly for the smooth jazz.

It's been pretty game changing in F1 2021 as well. Usually you kind of have to admit defeat on a pad and implement at least partial traction control in the settings but the feel you get through the pad and especially the triggers has allowed me to turn it off completely this year.

Interesting that while the physics are more lively and dynamic, you therefor need to be more precise with the control. It’s more sim than previous GTs.
Not sure that’s my style (read as ability:)).

One of my concerns. Hence the wait for a meagre sale

Yeah, I like the semi-arcade feel of previous entries, including Sport. I'll still buy it, but if it's too sim I might drop it earlier than I'd like.

Elden Ring is my risky purchase of the year already. I'm reckless with money at times, but I'm not about to drop £70 on a sim racer that I know I'll bounce off pretty hard.
Although I did enjoy a bit of GT2 back in the day, and some of the Forza Motorsports... Fuck it, pre-ordered! (/s)

Was worried about the dreary menus etc but seen a video that shows 1.5sec loading times to get into events on the PS5 which pretty much feels like a dream come true. Very much ticking all the right boxes for me.

So good trigger support and fast loading? That's all I was asking for.

Yeah that's all I was really expecting over Sport. The massively improved handling physics has pumped my ass temps to a whole new level though.

That plus a meatier career mode is all I wanted. Can't wait to get stuck in.

Oh fuck me. The Digital Foundry 30 minute PS5 "review" has made me deeply hungry for a meal made of PS5. It was the footage of the pack in the rain, for some reason it gave me the feels for the PS2 era games.

Some really good reviews around and Super GT's near half an hour review finally got me to pre-order. He's got some niggles with it but he's incredibly happy even though he can't really comment about the MP as it's pretty empty with it only being reviewers.
I doubt he's going to do 200 laps on the Nordschleife again in GT7, perhaps that's not even the longest race in GT7?

My two favourite things in life- MX5’s and smooooooth jazz. Didn’t even kick it off but the PS5 has pre-downloaded it, brill.
Am disappointed with the start-last-and-work-your-way-through-the-field shit still though. I absolutely hated that in past games and here we are again. Even worse that races you create yourself can have grid starts apparently 😡

I've watched quite a few reviews now and moat seem to say it's mixture of rolling starts and proper grid starts on the career.
