Trump's worked out that he can do long pots so long as he doesn't twat it. There was an interesting segment with Davis and (slightly awkwardly) Lisowski discussing Trump's cueing action and how he cuts across to the left slightly in the forward stroke, and how in trying to correct it this season it's actually causing him problems on some shots. Still made the final of course, but looks like he used up all his luck against Williams. |

Only watched the first half of the first session and he should have finished that 2-2, but screwed up the final frame. Hearing him go 2-2 in second half to bring it to 5-3 made me think that there could be an actual match here, but sounds like he fell apart in the evening.
Pity that Williams couldn't pull it off in the semi. It would have made a great story to make that comeback and this final likely would have been much more interesting.
Either way though, I think O'Sullivan would have won. He has such raw talent at the game and he deserves to equal Hendry's record. They showed the 5 minute 147 the other day and the most amazing thing about it is just how ordinary he makes it look.
Absolute nob though.

Tournament peaked then. I did enjoy the 147 and really liked the look of that Thai lad. Good future ahead.

He was more emotional about winning and equalising Hendry's record than I've seen him in a long time and he was obviously feeling on top of the world but once he'd regained his composure he was "yeah, whatever, don't care about winning, just here to have fun" etc.
Which as well as being blatantly untrue, feels hugely disrepectful to the other players.

Ok, mate, but you did it. Not many people have and also YOU GOT £170K FOR ONE FRAME OF SNOOKER.
I think his easy going persona is to his detriment, not helped by some of the fannying about he did in the final.
