Who's sharing plates with strangers?!

Tapas just doesn't work as a proper sit down meal (which seems to be the only way we do them over here) As a tasty accompaniment to a round of drinks they're fantastic though.

Who's sharing plates with strangers?! Yeah, the more I think about it, that was a bit odd of me.

Tapas with drinks is pretty good. A few bowls of something to pick at while youre drinking. No problem with that.
Going out specifically to La Tasca or whatever its called now for a tapas 'meal' can, however, eat my dick and balls. And my arsehole, too, if anyone in your party is a 'I just want to pay for what I ordered' merchant.

This is very wrong, at least on the film. PoA is the film that set up the modern blockbuster, transforming the safe, straightforward, schmaltzy kids films to proper cinema. The use of longer shots (which the Director Alfonso Cuaron is known for, eg Children of Men), trusting in the actors, the increased creativity and bringing the series up to date, the darker more complex but nuanced setting. If that were true, then why is it shit? Why is it shit?

Have to agree tbh. Doesn't seem as weird for a Greek/Turkish Meze though

Little bowls of tasty food to accompany a drink sounds pleasant enough. But yeah as above we've somehow got the idea in our national conscious that tapas is a sit down dining experience where you share food. Bite sized food for sharing...

I just can't get over the baked beans christmas dinner. Have you tried it though? You need to, delicious 🤤 They literally are “baked” beans though as I cook them for about an hour in the oven in a Pyrex dish. They have a lovely mush consistency afterwards but with a little crispyness on the edges of the bowl Mmmmmmmmmm. I’m like Pavlov’s Dog here at the thought of them Delicious!

You're right, that's the key. Bake the utter fuck out them. They essentially should look like that guy at the end of Robocop before you eat them. We've had this talk before of course but I do a similar bean thing, however I also pop a crushed weetabix in there for extra mass and some tuna for the lols. It ends up not unlike an edible brick. Superb. If I'm feeling particulalry naughty I'll dollop some tobasco in there too. It turns your arse inside out and blows it apart like an over inflated tyre but it's worth it.

"But sharing food is so social". Get fucked, if you wanted what I ordered, you should have ordered it yourself. This especially applies to curry. That sounds suspiciously like the rant from Gavin and Stacey, which I thought page 1 had decided was shit. Not that I'd know anything about that, having never watched it, honest guvnor.

The HP books were page turners. They may not have been Trainspotting, but you can’t read that to an eight-year-old. I tried to read the first HP aloud to my kids. Awful rambling sentences. Had to give up.

I find it only causes that many emissions if you overdo the spicing.

Resident Evil 4 has done more for modern videogaming than any other title. Resident Evil 4 is, and always has been, a bad game.

To be fair, when people have dropped the "you wouldn't understand" line, it's usually in the context of me (for example) asking them to supervise their kids when they are running around my place of work with wild abandon. Or just leaving them alone while they go off and have a coffee. So maybe I find it annoying because the context I hear it in is usually annoying. I am a parent and I think it's annoying.

The original version of RE4 is basically unplayable due to the low FOV and the stupid letterboxed 4:3 setup leaving you with about 250 horizontal lines of resolution most of which is Leon's back

Have to agree tbh. Doesn't seem as weird for a Greek/Turkish Meze though A meze in the UK is crap. Going for one in somewhere like Cyprus though, its a proper meal with numerous courses with lots of meat dishes. Its not the "choose a few things from this incipid looking list of cold shit" you get here. Its just "a meze" and its a real struggle to eat it all. I really miss a decent meze.

I'm a big fan of tapas, both in the UK style (main meal) and the Spanish style (as snacks). The key is to set guidelines of which dishes are to be shared and which are just for you. Potatoes and bread are great to share, but you just need to set the expectations of the people around the table that they can keep the fuck away from your calamari and have whatever disappointing dish they ordered.
Rules are fun

Basically as long as there's loads of everything then it's fine though (that goes for curry, mezze, tapas, whatever). I love sharing stuff and getting to try different things

It being a bad game is an unpopular opinion though, although there's plenty of people who'd say it ruined the series until recently

I really dislike when someone with similar social/political/cultural views or background as me starts making stupid arguments as I'm worried I'll get lumped in with them.
For example, I'm not a parent and don't particularly want kids, but I always cringe when I see people saying how much they hate them, especially when it's wrapped up with the self righteousness of environmentalism or some other supposed societal benefit. Same goes with militant atheists. You just know they wank themselves into a fury over how smart they are when they're arguing on Reddit.
(I hope this isn't an unpopular opinion, more a comment on other people's. I prefer the thread when it's about books, baked beans and being wrong about tapas).
