WRT Children and them being the scourge of the earth.
It's not an unpopular opinion at all, since it crops up all the time. The only unpopular opinion around that is "to each their own". It's such an incredibly touchy subject that people seem incapable of letting it rest. That goes for both sides.

Also 50 or over for 24 beers. If that's Australian dollars thats only £27 or a little over £1 a beer which doesn't seem unreasonable

Well it clearly was an unpopular opinion in my case... Doesn't help that I mixed my opinion up with an untrue statement that could be quite hurtful in hindsight.
Without wanting to bring it back up, apologies if I offended anybody with my poorly thought out bleary eyed posts.
Not an unpopular opinion: I'm a cunt.

Australia is a pretty expensive place really.

Yeah, definitely no offence taken. I would suggest that anyone easily offended may want to stay out of an unpopular opinion thread!

You gave your fish whiskey?... Hopefully not the decent stuff. It was my Dad in the 80s, so definitely not good stuff. They excrete alcohol so it...fixes the tank nutrient balance...actually I have no clue why we did it, maybe it's a Scottish thing? Seemed to work....

Our cats are indoor, too. We have tried letting them out but they don't seem to like it much. They're happy enough. People are entitled to their opinion, of course. My unpopular opinion is that the unpopular opinions of other people phase me not one iota. Our cats are indoor. One of them is a bit sickly and gets a bug if he's not got exactly the food he wants when he wants and he's a bit dense, so wouldn't last long outside. There's also the whole car thing. Where we used to live an "old" cat was 5 if they were lucky. We do let them out in the back garden now and then for a play when they want to, but they will run back inside if there's any loud noises or anything a bit scary.

Seems like a good way to give Gary a friendly nudge towards the great fish tank in the sky mind you. He'll go how I want to go out. Pished and soaking wet.

Doner Kebabs are absolutely shit in the UK compared to elsewhere. There's no care gone into them and garlic mayo is shit compared to the garlic yoghurt other countries use. This can be said for the majority of takeaway in the UK. Chinese is always an oily mess, pizzas are mostly crap and burger places just go for quantity over quality.
That's if you live outside of London anyway.

They are worse in Spain purely because garlic sauce does not seem to exist, just this white sauce which is kind of like pouring a glass of milk on your kebab.

Chinese takeaways that bulk dishes out with massive slices of half cooked onion... Bleurgh!
We always seem to instantly regret any takeaways we get. Pizzas especially are always utter shit.

No, tzatziki has garlic and flavour. Spanish want none of it. It's literally called salsa blanca, or white kebab sauce. It's white and flavourless, even mayo is a step up on it.

Tapas is a terrible choice of food for any occasion. You never get as much as you want, it all tastes mostly the same, it's not fun having to constantly ask for someone to pass you the tiny little plate of whatever the fuck shite you want to try.
Fuck you tapas

"But sharing food is so social". Get fucked, if you wanted what I ordered, you should have ordered it yourself. This especially applies to curry.

Prisoner of Azkaban Weakest book in the series and second worst film in the series. This is very wrong, at least on the film. PoA is the film that set up the modern blockbuster, transforming the safe, straightforward, schmaltzy kids films to proper cinema. The use of longer shots (which the Director Alfonso Cuaron is known for, eg Children of Men), trusting in the actors, the increased creativity and bringing the series up to date, the darker more complex but nuanced setting. If that were true, then why is it shit?

At every tapas place I've ever been to the individual dishes were clearly for one person. I don't get how that is conducive to sharing? Like if more than one person wants the same thing you have to order multiple portions. How is that sharing? That's everybody ordering their own food except everything is tiny and creates thrice the amount of washing up
Of course I may have just been to stingy restaurants. For context I remember one of the dishes was a piece of chorizo that I would have eaten in one bite. "Oh that looks nice can I try some" "get to fuck you bastard this is already smaller than a McNugget"

Is that tapas in the UK? I don't wish to go all ecosse on you but in Spain it's generally pretty great, especially in the places where you get a different one free with every round. ¡Que rico!

The idea is not to have it all in one hit as a meal, but a few plates to share with each round. It's a great way to eat and drink on a night out imo.

We've got a tapas place near us. Pre-covid it was my favourite place to go with the wife. We could sit and have a few drinks and sporadically order a few little plates of shit to nibble on. It's great. A bigger group or with strangers I can imagine it would be utter shit mind you.
Oh in fact we did go with other people once. They just ordered 2-3 plates each, at once, treated it like a meal and then announced they wanted dessert when me and the mrs had just got a couple to start with. Idiots.
