Yeah but those old games even with a stick with plenty of buttons you had to also have your keyboard there for various other commands. Like switching power between engine and shields etc. Or the obscure "target missiles" button.

Yeah, tie fighter was the BEST thing ever.
You deffo need to use the keyboard judiciously
- changing up speeds and recharge rates and targeting options.
The most important non shooty/flying button really that you want is the match speed command (I had a very basic joystick) - although I think it was bound to "enter", which if that is correct must mean I used it quite a lot to remember after so many decades... Also I am pretty sure I could drop in now and remember all the key binds.

Can't help with the space issue, but I would say the £50 I spent on the Thrustmaster Hotas X has been very much worth the purchase and is far from expensive. Just getting to play Tie Fighter has been worth the price and I've had as much enjoyment as many new £50 games. You can also go cheaper if you just want a stick and no separate throttle. I'm now also looking forward to replaying Freespace 2, Starfleet Academy (will need to get hold of Klingon Academy too, which I never played), a few VR games and Flight Sim. I'm sure the £300+ sticks are great and better than what I have, but you don't need to spend that kind of money. Edit: return key is indeed match speed  |

I grabbed a cheap hotas x and haven't looked back, if anything I'd like a turtle beach one to be able to use it on the xbox.

They’ve unofficially shitcaned another Star Wats film. I assume it’s the Rey one as that seems to be the furthest one in. Know someone who builds sets and pre strike they were well into it. They might be starting afresh though but he’s been told the project has been cancelled.

At this point they've cancelled way more star wars movies than they've made. I wonder if they're actually planning on making any in the near future.
Kevin Feige seems like he'd be the guy who'd cancel movies, not have them cancelled.

I assume this is essentially the same film they announced last year.
At this stage, Filoni's film and the one about Rey are the only ones I actually imagine will be made.
Edit: missed the bit about it being directed by Favreau so maybe this is different from the film Filoni is apparently making.

Yeah I just sort of assumed they were the same project at first but I think they are different.
Empire are speculating that the Mando Movie might be designed to fill the "Untitled Star Wars" release date slot in December next year.

I dunno what the viewing figures are for Mando, but there must be a bit of a risk in basing a movie on a TV show, in that it can limit the potential audience.
It's been done many times before, of course, but those movies usually aren't expecting box offices of the size of Star Wars movies.
The MCU being the most recent similar example, though it's not really clear if The Marvels being based partly on characters from Disney+ shows was what impacted it's sales.
