How can The Sun have possibly thought it was a good idea to go ahead with this when the lawyers told them it was all bollocks on Friday? They must be very confident they had enough to prove otherwise. I hope they've misjudged this.
It was also never about the Young Person, but just another avenue for The Sun to attack the BBC.

IIRC Page 3 was exploiting some sort of loophole in not being considered sexual imagery. Like how you can show pictures of naked children in ads for nappies or even textbooks about biology etc. Is that why they would have a little speech bubble giving their opinion on the top stories of the day? It was just a comment piece not a sexual one? |

Any celebrity that's been libeled as a result of this should go directly for The Sun in any legal action, on the basis that The Sun was in possession of information it was all false, could see the defamation taking place and allowed it to continue.

That was still in the era where women had to lean into casual sexism or risk get branded a killjoy feminist and blackballed from the industry, so you can’t really judge her for it. I watched a documentary about her and her life was full of shit like that. Her first husband was a right ugly bastard and still cheated on her. No not judging her at all. Also confused by the gender of the young person involved. Early reports said female, but since Rylan decided to preempt any claim against him, I’m guessing the gender is still in question? News articles seem keen to avoid specifying it.
