Some pretty devastating recording got played today clearly demonstrating Heard gaslighting Depp about her abusing him and how a jury would never believe him. Just heard a bunch of lawyers say how explosive that recording is.

She is absolute poison, he got rid and she tried to take him to the cleaners and ruin his reputation. It worked. However it looks like he will be allowed to rescue the situation enough to at least work properly again. Is depp perfect, no not all , but it’s clear she is a nightmare.
It’s easy to take the woman’s side, because often women don’t speak up when they suffer terrible abuse, and then when they do it’s ignored. But Sometimes you just have to admit when a woman is a psycho and a horrible person.
For what it’s worth my wife knows Johnny depps PA. When this blew up a few years ago he told my wife heard was an absolute nutter and not to believe most of the crap she was spouting. He was right.

Having been on the receiving end of a violent relationship with a toxic, gaslighting narcissist, I have made a conscious effort not to follow the coverage of that trial because it brings back some deeply unpleasant memories. Despite my efforts, some of it has entered my mind through hearing people at work talking about his injuries, and it just makes me shudder.
By weird coincidence, I actually had to have the top of a finger sewn back on as well after the bone was exposed. That was a workplace accident though. It was, to quote Carl Brutananadilewski, "crushed to bejeezus and back." Still got nerve damage now.

What is at stake in the trail? Is there money involved, is it just for Depp to clear his name?
And how long does it go on? I mean, from what I've seen it seems pretty much done. Heards's lawyer seems a complete moron.

I don't really know how it could result in a win for Depp. Libel is reeeeeaaally difficult to prove in the US.
I don't even think it's a win from a PR standpoint. The presented evidence makes them both look terrible.

I think the problem with a libel suit is that it's going to be difficult to prove the article that Heard wrote caused $50 million in damages, which is essentially what the suit boils down to.

Yeah to go from abusive husband to being redeemed in the eyes of fans (especially the ladies, let's face it they all creamed over Depp back in the day) is a win for him.
He might not be sanitised enough to have his roles back in Pirates of the Carribbean or Fantastic Beasts, but he'll get some type of roles in whatever.

I'd never heard of her until now anyway. I just remember when all this blew up even her own family were coming out in defence of Depp and saying she was completely nuts and treated him like shit.
I'm sure he's no angel either but (and let's all be mindful that none of us have sat through days of court proceedings) the vast majority of things that have been released point to her being the instigator of violence and aggression.
Plus, in the same way you can DEFINITELY spot a paedo by how they look, you can DEFINITELY spot a bunny boiler by the way they look. Definitely. That's how the law works.

I think the large amount of women on Depp's side is understandable. They know any woman making false claims and being abusive themselves is going to damage the progress that's been made by the #metoo movement.
