I was talking to my mate the other day, who used to work in prisons, and he was saying how his job took him to different ones. He's met a few of the famous paedos but the worst was when he was faced with an old PE teacher, put in the same prison.
Just made me think that every conviction that's high profile, like Alves, hopefully gives victims confidence to come forward.
A crime book I read about gang land murders in LA really drove home the point that successful convictions have a real impact on future crime.

A man with a “high public profile” succeeded in obtaining an injunction preventing the BBC from publishing details of an ongoing police investigation into multiple allegations of serious sexual offences against women, over which he was arrested in 2022.
He also used the case to use confidential witness statements to discredit the three women making the allegations, in an attempt to persuade the Crown Prosecution Service not to charge him.
Sounds like a nice chap
