I ate half a tub of Christmas pudding and an entire can of whipped cream. Living the dream.

it's a fackin winter wonderland out there. I mean, the schools are closed & you only have to so much as look at the m5 and skid off into a hitch hiker, but it looks so pretty out there

Crazy amount of snow here in Herts. Don’t remember seeing anything like as much settled. Not for many years anyway. We usually miss the worst of it here.
I live on a hill and I’ve seen a few cars stuck already. No chance they’ll be drivable tomorrow.
Guess that means a wfh day. First task - build a snowman.

As much as I know it would piss me off, I always get jealous when other parts of the UK get snow.
Snow on me you bastard.

Sod all here. Thank god, the place grinds to a halt at the first sight of a snowflake. Pain in the arse. Am going away next week too, so if it could all fuck off until 24th, that would be great.

Dougs - you should be ok, supposed to be warmer/ wetter by weekend. Had about 2-3 inches in East Herts. My daughter has to drive to work but main roads look ok…

Yeah, hopefully! Quite happy with snow when I'm at home and not going anywhere but can't be doing with the chaos on the roads!
Amazing to see central London covered though.

Happy there's no snow in Grimsby yet. I don't really wanna experience a snowy commute in a rwd car anyway.

We are flying out of Gatwick so would appreciate it if everything has fucked off by then.
Still, it’s displaced scarlet fever and the norovirus as this weeks anxiety, so that’s something (don’t go a away in December, kids)

No snow here in Glasgow but the frost is about an inch thick!
Car all frozen up with the doors shut solid. Managed in through the boot and pushed the door open from inside.
Curiously not that slippy underfoot....

We always used to go long haul for Christmas but it is far more stressful than summer with everything that can go wrong. One year we were actually sat on the plane waiting to take off when it started snowing and it came down so quickly we didn't even make it off the ground before they closed the runway. Ended up cancelling that entire holiday in the end which was very depressing when we should have been enjoying the Florida sunshine. When it all comes together you can beat that winter sun though.

The last few weeks I've had to get a train to Leeds. Today has been chaos. Absolute joke.

-4 at Night here (Manchester). Set to be this cold for this week, and some of next week, then it warms up. Well, I say warms up - what I mean is, that it'll hit temperatures higher than zero.

Trains now having issues due to the weather. Do we have any forumites who know trains and can explain how being a bit cold means trains don't work?

It's great that we're having the coldest winter for years at a time it costs a small fortune to switch the heating on for a few hours. There's been a pretty large target painted on the heads of pensioners the past few years. Brexit karma I imagine.

We've had so many Christmas Days in recent years where it's been 10+ deg, mild and wet down here which is bullshit, I really hope it's proper cold for just a couple more weeks over Christmas.
