My choice: Charmin, as good as Andrex but usually just slightly cheaper.
At work the stupid fuckwits have attempted to reduce our carbon footprint by 0.0000000000000000001% by buying in recycled loo paper, it's absolutely fucking shite and you end up using about 4X as much as normal given how awful/thin it is, I've also had more than one 'finger through incidents', being purveyors of the bulk buy we literally have about 500 rolls of the stuff to get through.

It's shocking how many savages don't know how to use them still Typically Andrex Classic Clean/Shea Butter/Aloe Vera depending which is on sale in the bigger quantities. Not really all tha precious with what I wipe with though as long as it's not the stuff that takes skin off |

You want middle ground. Waitrose or Sainsbury's own brand, Tesco at a push. Too cheap and you're basically wiping your arse with your fingers. Too expensive and you get too much purchase on the paper; with the top layer going through some yucky friction on your anus.
Bidets are weird.

We were using the Andrex supreme but have recently moved on to Cushelle which is indestructible stuff, while still soft, whereas even the Andrex supreme tears a bit. Used to use wet wipes too until we learnt how bad they are and don't degrade enough and cause all those massive blobs of gunk in the sewers that they need to manually clear. |

I'm sure as a kid the paper in school bogs and the like used some weird tracing paper like stuff? I was pretty much in the never used a toilet at school camp as a kid. Perhaps a pee but never ever a number 2.

I actually once bought lots of different brands/models of loo rolls and systematically product tested them.
I found Andrex Aloe Vera Skin Kind was the clear winner. Although recently since the supermarket has run out, I've found Waitrose Aloe Vera to be decent.
Aloe Vera makes the difference, and Andrex makes the best one. I'm a bit conflicted though because a Palestinian support organisation had Andrex on their boycott list.
