I guess purple glowing weak spots aren't as big as a draw as we thought.

I think they're certainly less popular than the Rocksteady designers thought!
Watching a playthrough of the start of the game and there's a lot of Arkham present, but you can also see the problems they faced making it co-op, and the really poor solutions implemented to solve them. The first 15 minute onboarding is horribly designed and poorly placed, and paced, and it's obvious that the actual start of the game takes place after that (7 days earlier...). Willing to bet that people complained that it was too slow with too little interactivity for 4 players, and teaching 4 players the movement and combat stuff at that point proved difficult, so they tacked on the bit at the start.
Co-op is probably the underlying origin of most of the issues present.

TBH I had issues with it and I played it in single player mode. Like you say co-op has created those issues and it doesn't feel made for a single player despite what they say.

I was kind of indifferent to this for the most part, though I was looking forward to blasting through the story and forgetting about it, but now (in a fit of irony/raging hypocrisy) want it to do relatively well as the usual crowd are losing their minds about lgbt+ references in the game.

Wait... You paid extra for early access to a game you're indifferent about?

I've played a good few hours now, quite a bit further than the section from the alpha. There are a few bits and bobs I didn't click with back then, but I'm starting to get a better feeling for how all the tools you have are supposed to be used - a lot of the early missions are basically tutorials that the alpha really could've done with.
It's never going to set the world on fire but there's definitely fun to be had.

DFawkes...you paid 100 quid?! I can't imagine it's a surprise at this point that I have more money than sense. Probably Β£90ish with the cheap PSN credit.

This actually looks like it could be quite good fun if the servers donβt continue to crap out. Crackdown x DC feat. Lewtz

I mean that's just clickbait if you don't have the raw numbers of what it increased from and to. It could be from 1 to 7 for all we know.
This is actually a good example of my annoyance at show so much of games journalism is just shitty rage bait now. Fair enough if you want to put the boot in but at least put some fucking effort in.

I just don't get it. The game's probably not going to be very good, we can all see that. Are you so desperate for clicks that you're going to write that bollocks and source it to what appears to be a shitty online casino/gambling website that you for reason are deciding to call an "analytics firm".

It's slightly better than I thought it was going to be so far. It's very Crackdown.

Skillup seemed semi positive from his preview with it a while back. He enjoyed the traversal and he was quite into the story. His doubts were at the live service side of things as he didn't think it would pull it off.

I share the sentiment as Skill Up, it does what it does fairly competently, I found it boring but I fully agreed that I couldn't see people putting the hours after the campaign is all said and done.

I mostly used Boomerang and King Shark in the alpha, so I've been mostly using Harley and Deadshot in the full game. The different traversal abilities makes them all feel very different. I also like Deadshot's "melee" which uses his cool gauntlet guns, so they've got decent range and can stun enemies in a hail of fire.
The story reminds me a bit of Avengers in that it's mostly a long tutorial. I meant to pop on just for a couple of missions tonight then ended up playing for 3 hours, so it's definitely doing something right! Will that last after the story though? Too early to say for sure.

I'm actually really enjoying this. No way is it worth $100 though, and arguably not $70 or whatever games cost nowadays, but when it's inevitably $25 and offline in a couple of months people should take a look.

I'm really up for it, watched a twitch stream earlier and it looks great fun. There is a Batman sequence which is incredible but I cant see anything solid on the endgame which this will live or die on, so its wait and see. If nothing else they made a really great logo.
Speaking of Batman, there are a handful of /r/Batman fans that are very angry indeed, they seem to think Rocksteady have taken a dump in Kevin Conroy's open grave by erm, checks notes, Killing the Justice league.

I've been watching some streams and it seems like a cross between Destiny x Diablo x Crackdown. I think I could be up for this but the only nagging doubt is that almost all the streams I flicked through had the player doing exactly the same thing: Protect X whilst defeating waves of enemies. Is that... it?

The VGC review is a solid score, though IIRC they also gave similar to Redfall, so it could still go either way.
It definitely needs some strong reviews though - early access for it is peaking a 7.5k on steam at the moment. Which is very low - and you might say "well it's early access, of course it's low", that's 10 times lower than what Remnant II peaked at on its early access launch day, a game which had a much, much smaller budget and IP. This game's budget given its dev time is probably closer to something like Starfield, which had a peak of around 33x the size of this in its first early access day. And both games managed a roughly 1.5x bump over that peak on the full launch.
So it's looking like 11-12k peak at launch at this rate. Could be a bloodbath if it doesn't pull some strong reviews.
