Yeah, not sure why Boxing Day at the MCG is such a fabled things for England fans. It's always shit. I'd say "usually shit", because Boxing Day 2010 with Anderson and Tremlett causing carnage and Strauss and Cook leading us to 157-0 was one of the greatest days of cricket I've ever watched in my life.

What’s the rough win rate for batting first? From the TMS feed on BBC Sport: Andy Zaltzman BBC Test Match Special statistician The team batting first has won six of the last eight night games in this tournament, having only won one of the first nine.

In an alternate universe you maybe lost as Moeen Ali got to bowl, how he was left out of the attack makes no sense to me.

I've always had a soft spot for Pakistan over the years so want them to get through to the final and win it now.
And not just saying that because it means Australia have to lose. Which you always want, obv.

Not that you're invested in a rivalry with Australia, of course. You're above that petty rubbish!

I'm invested in anything that wipes the smile off Davey Warners big smug blockhead.

I think a lot of Australian fans would be on board with that.
(with him getting humiliated, not the team losing)

NZ shit the bed when we play Pakistan and Australia.
The win record against both isn't great and we tend to get dominanted early on.
I'd obviously love to win the tournament but I don't have a lot of faith.

Listening to this on my lunch break brought a smile and helped get over last nights fuck up a little bit. Micah Richards is going for 24/7 wall to wall media work, but he's good value for it. Braithwaite, Mark Chapman and Micah Richards: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0011m4b

Very surprised at how low scoring Pakistan have been, they're playing so conservatively.
Edit : they must have heard me, six next ball.

Yeah Australia in all sorts of trouble, I thought Pakistan's score was a bit low but it doesn't look like it'll matter.

The first ball in the seventh over was quite astonishing. Australia looking much better now.

Wouldn't mind the Aussies winning. Would make the choice on who to support in the final very straightforward.

What a ballsy move with the scoop, fantastic.
Edit: follows it up with another six, this is some great cricket.
Edit again : oh you cheeky bastard, another scooped six to win.
Well done Australia, didn't expect that after the first over.
