That was some turnaround. '90s level shite. The antics to try and rattle Bumrah failed miserably and we undid so much good work keeping the runs tight yesterday. Fuck.

I was only following on Cricinfo but it sounded a proper, classic Test match which despite being on the losing side, I am all for. The tension is unbeatable imo.

It was beautiful following this on test match special during work and then watching the end. A true advert for test cricket.

Hah yeah, "90s level shite" was exactly what I was thinking as it unravelled yesterday. Really was nightmare levels of flashbacks.
We are in some serious shit with our top order now, I don't know where we go. Do we hand out debuts this close to an Ashes series? Do we bring back the likes of Pope (probably) and Crawley (surely not so soon)? I'm a big Buttler fan and was desperate for him to succeed at Test level, but we might need to switch to Foakes just to shore up the batting. Bring Buttler back in when that's sorted, he's the kind of guy you want coming in with 250+ on the board.
The one glimmer of hope is that we were without Stokes, Broad and Archer. The first two will hopefully by back for the Ashes at least.

Yeah, we couldn't quite finish them off with our bowling attack. Our opening pair could be better.

No hat-tricks, but it was a hat-trick of rejected referrals by the umpire!

With great difficulty. A once in a lifetime fast bowler.

With great difficulty. A once in a lifetime fast bowler. I mean, Broad with five hundred and plenty is pretty handy, but I absolutely take your point.

Aye, another era and Broady would have had much more acclaim! The pair of them are just dynamite.

Haven't seen any of this so far, sounds a bit spicy which always makes for good test cricket.
Good first day for you lot, I do enjoy seeing India get a thrashing.

I know it's been going on for a while, but I still don't think I'm used to the "5-day Test Match?! lol you'll be lucky to get 4" era of Test cricket.
Maybe I need to adjust my expectations, because for the longest time it's felt like teams aren't competing, more like taking it in turns to collapse. 15-20 years ago Australia had a team full of cricketing gods, and we weren't getting teams all out for under a hundred. That's just crazy.
I blame 20/20. It's probably more than just that, but I'm going to blame it anyway.
