What about "pop that in the mental microwave and see what defrosts"? I think that's brilliant

If I heard that I would think I was on a hidden camera show. The premise of the show would be to see how quickly they could break me.

I remember that microwave line being used on Drop the Dead Donkey. The character that was a bit of a pre-cursor to Malcolm Tucker.

"The longest pole in the tent" FFS The fuck does that even mean? I just had some one say that on my last call. This was shortly followed by 2 other gems: "tiger team" and "off piste", I really do work with some utter cunts.

At my place people use Teams as an action
“Hey could you Teams me?” “I Teamsed them yesterday” “They’re Teamsing me now”

Let's take this conversation offline.
By which you mean, online. Just a different Teams chat.

Off piste is an idiom for something going off expected course.
I have no idea what a tiger team is, though.

Apparently, it's
originates in the military and is "widely used in Cyber Security". Oddly, I've never heard it. Can't be that wide, then.

I'm sure that at some point during the development of Agile, Leap and all that jazz, a load of people thought "hey, we can make up exciting new jobs titles for ourselves and when we move, get loads more money" and they did and we're really happy, whilst everyone else went "huh?".

I'd never heard of it until earlier either, but apparently it provides an opportunity to "cross pollinate and tackle the issue head on". What an amazing concept no one never thought of before!

Not trying to start shit but "cringe" used as a descriptive noun, ie "X is total cringe". I get that it's essentially a degeneration/shortening of "cringe-inducing" or "cringe-worthy", but "cringe" as a descriptive noun is well... exactly the same kind "cringe" as stuff like "disruptive" just originating with a different kind so-and-so, an internet-person rather than a business-idiot. "Based" isn't much better.

I've been away from the office for 2 weeks, and now that I'm back every meeting seems to include someone repeatedly using the abbreviation "KT" for "Knowledge Transfer" - as in, people are leaving and we need to get a handover from them before they go. It's getting on my nerves.
"We still need to KT from that person" "We have blocked next Thursday for KT" and (worst of all) "There is a KT risk because they're leaving tomorrow"
JUST SAY IT NORMALLY FFS. What's wrong with "we need a handover"?

Just subtly introduce your own lingo. Even handover has a few too many syllables. I've got an alternative for you to try.
"I still need a handjob before you go."
Quick, concise and can in no way be misinterpreted.

I like it. Think my last performance review praised me for being very handy. Or was it handsy? Same difference I'm sure.

Tiger Team dates back to Apollo 13. The different shift teams at ground control were designated by colour. The flight director took White team out of the rotation and tasked them with fixing the problems they needed to get them home. As one by one they solved the problems he changed their name to Tiger Team as a show of pride in their work.

My lad types k because typing OK takes too much time. To be fair I used to see this on IRC in the 90s, so maybe he’s just respecting his elders? For me: “work package”. Seems to be the cool new thing in project management right now. “Let’s deliver that work package”. Can’t decide whether it’s better or worse than “product increment”.
