I don’t know if this counts really.
But all the people who clearly never read more than a FB status at work say the words ‘adaptations’ and ‘irate’ thusly:
‘Adaptions’.
‘And then he was getting very high-rated’.

"At the end of the day we are all human beans"
"And together, we will rice" (typed sarcastically)

It's a minor annoyance but people in my team at work have started typing "thank you" as one word.
There was one particular team member who did that since she joined, but it's spreading to others.
The horror 😱

To be honest, as somebody from the Black Country I've always used "mom", as it's very much a West Midlands dialect thing, not necessarily an Americanism.
My mom kicked the bucket so I don't really have to refer to her often these days, but it was certainly the done thing growing up.

"If that makes any sense?" That reminds me of a friend who keeps finishing each sentence with "Do you know what I mean?" - Yes, mate, I understood you when you opened your mouth.

It's the ones that prefix what they're about to say with "I'll tell you what it is" that get me. Just fucking tell me. You don't need to give it a fucking introduction.

Apparently I'm old.
What's the tea? SLAY!! That slaps!
I had no idea what any of these words meant last week. Also don't repeat the words to anyone else. Younger people will laugh at you and older people will ignore you.

Wtf does that even mean? Educate us mrpon. It's the capability of making other people desire you, get all hot and bothered for you. (colloquially: have game and get bitches) See also "to rizz (someone) up" for its usage as a verb. It's a very versatile word, yes indeed 🧐

Bro is an Americanism that needs to die. I ain't your bro. Americanism? Bro? I don't associate the word bro with Americans whatsoever, unless it's in a very specific 'broooo' way. As in 'brooooo! That's so deep, broooo'. And generally speaking (here at least) it's a fairly genuine form of kinship.

I suddenly see a increase in people writing out "chefs kiss" to give a compliment. For some reason this really gets to me. Even worse, when in a short or conversation someone makes the clearly defined hand gesture, makes the sound, AND then says chefs kiss at the end. What is this?
