I hope these contributors are getting some compensation Pretty sure CDPR did say modders whose mods are incorporated in the new version were being compensated.

Hooray! Sometimes devs can be a bit sneaky/arsey about it and claim the license permits it.

The next gen update on Xbox didn't happen until midnight last night. The game tile icon should have a "X/S" logo if it's updated. So I was lead to believe, but the version I installed yesterday afternoon was the "Complete Edition" (not "Game of the Year Ed.") and it came in at 53.7GB. The Series X has been off in Energy Saver mode since yesterday. The available updates for Flight Sim and Halo Infinite are still sitting there from yesterday, and nothing has auto-installed since. I fired the game up earlier and it's definitely the next gen version, as I got the notification about all the new features, and the performance / ray tracing options were available.

Yep, on the modders - 'We obtained permissions from their creators, reimbursed them, and they'll be featured in the credits of the updated game.' Quote from TheGamer website.

Can anyone remember if there is any gear exclusive to Death March? I know there were some armour and weapons in 2 that you could only get on the hardest setting, but can't for the life of me remember if they carried that over to 3.

I'm still hoping that CDPR will announce a release date for the physical current-gen edition before the day's out...

Let the Gwent simulation begin!... but 60fps Gwent or ray-traced Gwent?

More devs should do this. A lot of mods out there are completely non-controversial improvements to older games and should be part of the default experience. Not only for ease-of-use on PC but so they can be experienced on console. The AI upscales of pre-rendered backgrounds on older games immediately come to mind

Anyway can someone explain the fuss about the new camera. All I've seen of it is a new over the shoulder view for horse riding which looks like a downgrade to me

robthehermitThanks, dude. I believe it's February 9, not January, but I'd be happy with it regardless!

It just zooms in the action and actually reduces performance as the fov is increased.

The AI upscales of pre-rendered backgrounds on older games immediately come to mind I completely agree, because it's vaguely ridiculous that there's huge communities representing millions of hours of collective work that's been put into fixing and improving games, yet a lot of it never officially sees the light of day. I think publishers have to take a 'belt & braces' approach to their codebase though. The last thing they want are security vulnerabilities introduced, or a modder sneaking porn into the game. Just look at the trouble R* got in with GTA and Hot Coffee, and that wasn't even official game content that could be viewed by anyone, unless you went out of your way to play on PC with a specific unofficial mod to unlock it. Outrage culture and the tabloids are to blame.

Yeah but wasn't Hot Coffee based actual cut content from the game that was still in the game files? So therefore it was official content?

No extra gear available, the only differences in deathmarch are difficulty and health regen when meditating.

Jambowayoh Yeah it was originally official content, but removed from the game. Unfortunately they left some assets and code intact, which modders reintroduced. My point is that even if the publisher doesn't technically do anything wrong, modders can still cause controversy for them. Imagine the controversy if the publisher approved a community mod, only for it to enable a 'naked mode' or something. It's great that publishers are approving community mods more and more, even on console, but vetting the mods can't be a simple process.

I appreciate that the old modes are still available though

Read something else that said the save would only be useable if the Game of the Year edition was owned. I don't think that's the one I have. I've got the game then I picked up the season pass down the line. So I could be screwed either way. Joy.
As far as this goes, the only thing I was hoping for was that they would make Gerry's hair less bouncy tbh. Why didn't they include a mod for that. It's far too bouncy. Why is it so bouncy?
I suppose that could be how hair reacts when riding a horse. I wouldn't know as I don't have a horse or hair. it just always struck me as being unnecesshairily bouncy.

Every time a game gets one of these uprezzing updates my first thought is 'well that probably won't work on my PC anymore then...'
Anyone know if it's optional on the PC versions (team/gog etc..) if you buy it from now on?

Seems not on Steam, unless you can rollback to an earlier version?

Does anyone else wonder why "ray tracing in cutscenes only" isn't ever offered as an option
