The best bit about the ship section in RE7 is the remote bombs
Those things are cool as fuck. If there was a cheat to use them the whole game I’d be in giblet heaven

And just as I'm in the mood for all these games, Village is now in the PSN sale for £20.
Tempted. It's the only one I don't have, and there's DLC on the horizon.
Hmmmmm.

Might make more sense to buy the gold edition depending on price. £20 is pretty damn good though so probably not.
Get it!

I know I'm going to end up getting it. I'm weak like that. I really want to do 7 then go straight on to it. After Revelations 2 of course. After I finish Zero of course. All in my 30 mins of gaming time a day.
/sigh

Never really gotten on with the switch to 1st person (too scary) but I'd play Village when the 3rd person mode comes in.
It's probably not going to be free like the 'next-gen' 2 and 3 upgrades is it? You'll probably have to get the dlc to get it?

No I believe the 3rd person addition is free.

Indeed. Quite intruigued by that actually, although I do prefer the 1st person for these newer games if I'm honest.

I’ll give it a go and Village being very 4ish means it might work but stuff like that section might lose some of its edge if its less claustrophobic by shifting from first to third person.
I wonder if you’ll be able to switch on the fly, that could be fun. Hub exteriors and the second two zones third person and the first two zones first maybe.
The factory boss could be very fun in third person.

They’re adding a third person mode to Village?!
Can’t even imagine how that would work. Maybe it will force you into first person for cut scenes and certain actions.

Oh I've played it before. Played it on release week in fact. Absolutely ploughed through it and loved it. I just... need it. I'm playing them all you see. All of them. In the time that I don't have.

I am having a cracking time with the board game version of 3. A good campaign, thematically appropriate and a good solo or coop game.
I highly recomend it.

Well, I finished Zero in my wee gaming window this morning. I do regret putting it on easy as didn't even need to use the grenade launcher. Had ammo lying all over the place. Stopped even picking up handgun ammo after a while.
That said, the puzzles were challenging enough, with a couple of them being quite obtuse.
I'm glad I played it, and had a lot better time with it than I thought I would. I actually bought this when it came out for the gamecube and never bothered with it after the train. I wish I had now, but that's at least been rectified all these years later.
The item management was a pain, but not as annoying as I feared, and I liked how the two character dynamic worked. As I mentioned earlier, the music is utterly brilliant - the highlight being the Training Facility - and all in all it still stands up as a gaming experience.
So, that's one RE ticked off the list!
Next I'm on me hols for a couple of weeks but I have the original RE2, RE3 and CV loaded on my handheld jobber to get my fix when I get some downtime.
After that... Not sure. Toying between REmake and Re: Rev 2.

Yeah, item management and daft co-op puzzles flicking between both characters aside, it's still a good resi game.
You know what I'd like? an over the shoulder, or even first person job of The Chaos Engine. Or a VR mode too.
Imagine Fortesque Mansion like that? It would be fucking awesome.
Someone do that please.

Weirdly played through chaos engine a couple of weeks ago. It's fucking brilliant. A new version could be immense.
Do you know what I kept thinking as I went through Fortesque? Caria Manor...

What is it with hands as monsters in games. They work *too* well.
I feel like I want to run through chaos engine again now. I wish I had a version that you could abuse the party power bug - it's been patched out of all the ones I had. I think the only one that still does it is the original amiga version which is a shame

Probably available as a cheat if you're emulating it, but I guess feels a bit wrong actively using an external cheat rather than something that's already in the game.
Now I'm going to have to play it too!

I played the MD version on my retroid and save scummed through it. I've got it on the a500 mini too, and the snes mini (as soldiers of fortune - silly name and horrible title screen but apart from that it's the same). It's too good.

Now I'm going to have to play it too! Well, I tried it on the NTSC version (Solder of fortune is the US name) and it doesn't work. Tried it on a pal snes (physical hardware) and it doesn't work Tried it on an emulator (retroPie via a raspberry) and it doesn't work, though maybe this one could be hacked or enabled somehow Amiga version on disk will definitely work, but I don't have an amiga. Which is all EmarkM's fault anyway. It's just so handy - it lets you power through the whole game, and it's fucking nails without it. I just want to breeze through and enjoy the music, levels and fighting without being pin point accurate. And it knackers your hand after playing for a while - you know how intense it can be. Especially if you're trying to beef up the Preacher

They also replaced the Preacher in the US version with something else. Same character, but just a non-religious name if I remember right

Heh, yeah an odd thing to do but there you go.
We need a new Chaos Engine. Dammit. I wish someone would make one.
Derailing the RE thread a bit here I know but did you ever play the second one? It's rubbish. Such a shame. It reviewed quite well at the time apparently but playing it now I just can't get on board with it at all.

Heh, just checked and the US version seems to be the only one in my Vita pack. Didn't know about that until today. What an awful name!
