I think the show needs its own thread as the star trek one is getting used for that
Really looking forward to the new season as the show is really good, once you get past the first episode with some naff jokes

Hulu has pre-cancelled the space comedy before the third season has released. Production sources confirm to Cancelled Soon TV that while The Orville Season 3 has been filmed and is set to be released later this year, the show “will certainly not” return for a fourth season. Additionally, there are “no viable plans” to move the show either back to FOX or to a new platform for a fourth season.

There isn't FOX tv channel any more, fingers crossed they are waiting for season 3 viewing figures.
Sure Disney own the series now after the fox buyout

Yeah hopefully Disney can save it. Macfarlane has history with getting his shows cancelled and recommissioned so if he’s still into it he knows how to fight for it.

Wonder how it will be distributed in the UK. Hulu is joint owned between Disney and Comcast (owners of Sky) so ideally it will be on Disney+ and Sky.

It seems season 3 will be the final season taken from reddit www.reddit.com/r/TheOrville/comments/q7n09d/what_do_we_make_of_this/In a podcast interview yesterday, Adrianne Palicki seems to be saying that the third season of The Orville will be its last... podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/clear-eyes-full-hearts-a-friday-night-lights/id1586814937?i=1000538306911Listen for yourself at 43:22, but here's a transcript: Host: I know, uh, you just wrapped on the third season of Orville. Is there anything you can tell us about it at the moment? Palicki: No, it's like, it's honestly, it's so secretive considering that it takes seven years for it to come out...to film...and then to actually come out. Like, it's not gonna be out until 2022. And it is our final season. Host: Oh, wow. Host: Oh, wow. Palicki: So... Host: That's kind of an end of an era. Palicki: Yeah, I mean I...I'll miss everyone. That was actually...that was definitely a family for sure. We spent so much time together on that ship...that...praise God we loved each other.

Different tastes and all that, there are shows I like, dislike, or are ambivalent about, but the Orville is one that made me deeply uncomfortable. Really creepy vibes

Is it how MacFarlane has a kind of androidy ventriloquists dummy look about him? Because thats basically how he looks in Enterprise and life

If season 3 is as good as that run through the middle of season 2 at least it’ll go out on a high

Was more about how every interaction with his character's ex wife was to make her feel guilty, frequently in front of others. Yes relationships are hard and sometimes people do things they're not proud of, but he spent the first series basically slut shaming his ex.

"slut shaming" ?
I think you are reaching there and calling it "creepy" is not the right word at all

Oh no pretty sure she did leave to be in something else (also if there was bad blood between the 2, she wouldn't of done the guest star role later on?)

I assumed Halston Sage left because she got the role of Ainsley on Prodigal Son.

Slut shaming? To me they probably emphasised it for laughs, but truthfully, it was probably a normal human reaction to being cheated on. Later on, he does acknowledge it being partly his fault too, which suggests to me it's almost like going through the stages of grief. When we first met him he was going through the anger stage, by the end, acceptance.

Well he rubbed her nose in it all the time, if memory serves often in front of other people, so I understand the sentiment. And he stalked her when she was seeing another guy, like taking the shuttlecraft to peek through her window and such, which is creepy.
And the whole thing overstayed its welcome in the second episode already but it came up again and again for fucking forever. Easily the worst part of the show.
