Had a mulled cider at lunch (lunch out followed by walk on the beach), mulled wine whilst wrapping my wife's presents, and about to have an old fashioned now. Love this time of year. Tomorrow will be a morning prosecco with splash of OJ, followed by various beers during the day. Daytime drinking is always such a treat, especially as a parent 😆

Toasting to my grandmother with Baileys. She passed away this morning, and it was her favourite. Jeez, so sorry. Sincere condolences.

~eight hours ago, fucking around: "why did I ever stop drinking gin, this is lovely" ~now, finding out: "lads, it is possible I may have drunk a teensy bit too much gin"

I love gin and love my extensive collection. But 2 is about all I can manage before a wicked headache occurs.

A negroni earlier, Newcastle brown currently.
Probably a negroni for the bells.
Just me and the missus tonight. Even the boy has abandoned us and is out on the piss at a party. 😢

Over the evening I've had a whisky (Cotswold distillery signature single malt), and Irish coffee (think it was Aber Falls whisky used) and 5 bottles of Corona.
I feel basically sober, but getting pissed would be to much effort. Does make me wonder what the point in drinking most of that was if I'm not even getting a buzz.

After a bottle and a half of white, I decided to crack open the mulled wine and drink it at room temperature.
How's your evening going.
Thank god for autocorrect.

2 pint cans of Arbor Ales "Bandalu" export stout and 1 pint can of their "Cherry Bomb" sour. Also a few fingers of the Rye Whisky my friend gave me.
Sehr Gut.

What's the best way to drink sake, warm or cold?

Depends on the sake

We just picked up the on that Waitrose sells (Sawanotsuru Deluxe). We don't really know much about Sake, we've only had it in cocktails or at Wagamamas (warm) so we're super noobs. I think we'll probably try it chilled first (cos it's easy innit) unless that's a daft idea?

Odd nights selection today.
Kicked off with a Martini vibrante non-alcoholic apperitif which was quite nice. Almost a guilt-free aperol/negroni cross. Will definitely drink the rest of that bottle over time.
Then a Williams bros 'Joker' Ipa.
Now on a Free Star non-alcoholic beer. Which i don't really recommend. Definitely better out there.

not drunk any lager for a few weeks, but bought some Corona after work and, chilled as it is, I have to say I do quite like a nice cold, relatively tasteless, beer sometimes.

Found some BIA Saigon Export in Lidl. It's OK, quite smooth, nice after taste. Not bad for 99p a bottle.

The whisky I got for my birthday a week ago has ran out now - Ardbeg Wee Beastie, a 5 yo expression. It's peaty but has a raw kick as it's relatively young.
Anyway it's gone now and the only think I have to hand is a 50cl of Red Leg rum my niece bought me. Now is as good a time as any. it came with a "drinking tin" so may as well use that as a vessel.

Actually, yes, now that I've drank that tiny minature I really would like some more. It's pretry smooth and the vanilla tones were stonger than I expected. Not a massive rum drinker, had a bad rum experience a few... well, ten... fifteen... (time flies) years ago that involved drinking an entire bottle of rum and havent really drank much since.
Red Leg might change that.

1x Newcastle Brown 1x Tennent's lager
Kicking it old school with no craft beer wankery.
For a change. 🤣

Ha, good work. Always forget how popular Tennant's is north of the border. Not a fanz too gassy iirc, but it's been a while.

The occasional pub can pull a decent pint of it, but they're few and far between. It's not on my favourite list, but has its place from time to time.
Someone brought some round over the holidays, i'm doing my duty and finishing the remnants.
