I got a bottle of the Peroni AF in my gin box this month. Will try that next week.

Hopefully not instead of Gin?
Speaking of which, Tanqueray and Fever Tree, ice and lemon. Dry AF.
It's been a long, rough day.

Post-gym negroni booked in for tomorrow.
My 8 week voluntary dry spell is officially over. Just in time for half term.
Result.

Don't say that. Our lad is already counting down to a Halloween party where he's expecting some boozing to happen...

Sorry. I really should stay off this thread, I'm an appalling influence.

Ha, no, sometimes they'll chuck in a beer or some other cocktail or something too. This month (which I thought I'd cancelled) just happened to be an AF beer. The gin is a rather nice Estonian gin.

I did 4 days last week and counted it as some small victory. Wrong thread, I guess.

I’ve been back into my Monday to Thursday off it, my 4:3 diet. Usually means I hit it harder than usual on Friday though

After two months of behaving myself, this is definitely hitting the spot.

My ambition was to not drink unless both a) out of the house, and b) not a work night. But I've had three Bath Ale Landsdown IPAs and two drams (so far) from what was allegedly a whisky advent calander. but the calander doesnt even have numbers on the doors, so I'm tempted to just buy a proper one. At least I've managed to stop drinking on skool nites.
Also - I'm not afraid to admit I enjoy being drunk. I regret having hangovers when there is work I need to do, and I regret the other health implications. But the actual state of being drunk? nah, It's great.

I wasn't gonna drink, but I'm home today and a bottle into Clos Labarde, so there you go. Went well with the pasta I prepared for lunch.

I had one beer and one glass of wine with dinner as the boy is away with scouts and someone apparently has to be a grown up. I'll feel better for it in the morning but was definitely Joneseying for more. Sigh.

/tries to ignore the other, more virtuous thread.
Neck oil whilst cooking tonight. Then a nice valpollicella with dinner. I may have a gin in between.

Got a friend round for dinner tonight so I think I’ll crack open a bottle of red later. In the meantime I think I’m about to cave into one of these options

Nice. I'm afraid my drinks cabinet is just gin, vodka and Pimm's. I have a tray of cocktail mixes from the gin club which inevitably I have one and then never touch again.
Are they all different bitters or just Angustura?

Different ones, got orange, cherry and peychauds up there with some Cointreau stuffed behind them for the odd sidecar

I am a heathen. I find French wine a bit...French. Lovely with food but most are not gluggers. Which isn't a bad thing, obviously, unless you're a soak like me.

My wife’s the same, despite being French. Have to careful what I pick, Bordeaux is generally ok, Rhône’s go down a treat especially shat a noof de poop. If I slip a burgundy in the majestic order I end up drinking the bottle myself

When the in-law lived in Brittany, they tried so many different wines, across all price ranges. The one they settled on the most was the JP Chenet Cab-Syrah. Cheap as fuck but eminently drinkable. Very attuned to the British palate... somewhat deliberately I suspect!
