Someone's left a piece of snot on the work toilet door.
How do those DNA kits work again?

How about the piss on the toilet seat, fucking animals. Don't start me on this. My boy is terrible for stumbling through first thing in the morning and not lifting the seat, the manky git. How many times do i have to tell him to lift the seat or wipe it down before he gets the idea? He's also decided to start finishing cereal/biscuits and leave the empty box in place. I hate the teenage stage, even I was better than that ffs! Never mind the fuckers at work who piss, all around the pot/over the seat. probably while texting. I assume they are the same ones that don't flush and wander out without washing their hands. The clarty bastards.

I was diagnosed with 'suspected glaucoma' a few yeas ago, I had an eye appointment at the hospital today as the last time I went to the optician they saw freckle in my eye and they have now confirmed I definitely have glaucoma, as mentioned previously was suspected but thanks to some fancypants scan they have now officially confirmed it, hopefully if I just keep taking eye drops it hopefully won't get worse! For those not in the know (and I'm no expert) it's basically a deterioration of/damage to the optic nerve that if left untreated may eventually lead to blindness). The freckle BTW is also not a worry atm but like any other freckle might become a problem at some stage so they'll just monitor it for now.
Much as I might berate Specsavers for being a bit shit, they did see it in their tests and have very likely reduced any further deterioration to my eyesight that might otherwise have gone unnoticed, get your eyes checked guys, it ain't like you have to have a finger shoved up your arse.

Tooth came out, took her about 30 seconds. Didn't hurt in the slightest but the local Anesthetic starting to wear off now so getting sore.
Anyone worried about tooth extractions....don't be

I've had that warning from the optician this year, or rather the warning that there's the first possible sign of what may be glaucoma, maybe, but we won't know for several years. Meh. Hardly a surprise really, my grandmother had it, my dad's got it and it is hereditary... so I'm presuming I'm going to get it as well. I was told to wear sunglasses more often, as UV light accelerates the damage.

I looked back at the notes they gave me - what they've actually spotted is the faintest beginning of a type of cataract that can be the precursor to glaucoma. Hence the recommendation to wear sunglasses. So at the moment the advice is, it's too early to tell and I need to come in every year to 'keep an eye on it'... although family history suggest I'll probably develop it a some point... yay.

Cut my finger deeply, went to ED and they put steri-strips and a dressing on it. I've had them on about three days and it's doing my head in. When can I take them off? The got a little wet in the shower and are peeling a bit.

minimum of 5 days, depends on how deep the cut is.
I proper slashed my hand across the knuckles recently, didn't go to A&E (should have done just couldn't be arsed), i used steri strips and kept having to replace them and the dressing after 5 days as they would get crusted with goo and just come off, took about 3 weeks to heal but was pretty bad.

Ah bugger, it was quite deep on the side of the first knuckle, a fair bit of flesh flapping away from the bone. I guess I'll struggle through two more days 😭

Worked for 8 years in a school and barely ever got ill. One week working from home and I'm full of the worst cold I've ever had! 😆
One of those ones where I absolutely would have taken time off if I'd still been in my old job but because I'm so new at the new place I don't feel like I can. Just need to catch up on sleep to start to get rid of it but I'm waking up every 30 mins to an hour throughout the night with a sore throat.

Just had a vasectomy. There were many complications on the left one. I will apparently be very bruised and sore and in much pain for a while. Yay.

My left one was the worst too. Anaesthetic didn't work as well and bruising was much worse on it.

Bad timing though, if you'd held on a few more days you would have had the perfect excuse to do absolutely fuck all over Christmas.

So apparently I have low blood pressure (98/50) but as I'm not passing out or getting dizzy the powers that be are going to keep me on the meds that lower my blood pressure (ramipril/bisoprolol) because they're "cardiac protective". I probably should have told them I haven't taken any for a couple of weeks what with Christmas and my general laziness, but whatever. Anyway, I've now got "How low can you go?" stuck in my head as an earworm and I'm thinking I might start taking them again for shits and giggles.

Anyone have experience with Plantar Fasciitis? The last few days my right foot has been aching more and more, especially first thing in the morning, and today it’s unbearable. Dr. Google says all the symptoms match Plantar Fasciitis, and I’ve already gotten a sleeve that seems to be helping quite a bit, but fuck this for a living.

I've not had plantar fasciitis, but have morton's neuroma in my foot. Basically feels like you have a stone in your shoe for every footstep. It's a pain and while it comes and goes it's really annoying and cramps my running massively. A wee pad helps cushion it and make it less sore, but it doesn't seem able to make it go away as yet.
Given it's currently flared up again, I hope you have more luck than me!

Can't be any worse than the weird cushion thing i occasionally use just now.

As I'm 40 Years old now I should start getting invited to health checks every five years or something? I'd been nearly a month and I've not been invited yet, is that usual or should I start the busy work of trying to get it arranged?
I'm registered with a gp, they sent me a text to confirm this. But I've had zero contact with them since so I sometimes wonder if I've fallen off their books.

Don't think they bother now, I'm 47 next month and they haven't bothered at all.
