Well, just heard about this on the news. That's a bit shit. I have been looking forward so much to the re-release/spotify release of 3 feet high.
That's put a bit of a downer on it. 😢

I love it when I check out an older album of someone I've listen to loads and turns out it's dope.
Did a bit of googling to see what the general consensus was on what westside gunns best album was and supreme blientle was with winner.
Yeah turns out it's pretty great just on first run through. Some brilliant production but as usual with gunns verses I miss half of it at first, partly to do with his delivery and partly to do with the fact the beats other have samples on loop that get in the way.

Was having this discussion recently because some American magazine (I think it was Rolling Stone, might have been in the news recently) voted Jay-Z as the best rapper of all time.
He's not even in my top 5 and barely breaks my top 10. Hell, he's not even NYC's top 5 either.
Maybe I just have no taste.

I just think it's so subjective that there will never be a universal agreement. I use others lists as a prompt to listen to something I may have overlooked or not been in the mood for at the time.

I can't stand the guy on the middle verse but Conway and juicy are tight and the beat is epic on a decent speaker.
Also I quite like Benny's new signing fuego base. Got a mixtape out on Spotify and mostly decent.

I saw Loyle Carner last night at the Hammersmith Apollo, it was truly excellent. Seems like such a nice dude, the live band were great, the crowd were lively and generally awesome. Probably my 2nd favourite hip hop show (the 1st being the first time I saw RTJ). Well worth seeing him live if you get the opportunity

I tried to get tickets for that the week they went on sale but it was sold out.

Yeah they sold out immediately, apparently. We were up in the circle as that was all my mate could get. Actually it worked out great in terms of the seating tbf, we had a great view plus the seats in front of us were empty. There were a fair few empty seats I think probably because there was a tube strike and people couldn't make it. We didn't even realise till we were on the train to London. Cost us £70 in ubers in total :/

Great stuff. I’d completely forgotten he existed. I remember spending a very strange evening chatting to him once. Very intense dude. His late 90s/early 00s stuff is my listening for this afternoon.

I used to be well into Vadim, DJ Krush, DJ Cam, etc. One of the genres which defined my uni years for sure

He will never ever crack the mainstream, but Cruger is an absolutely insane talent. Unbelievable technical skills. Makes it seem effortless but what he does is SO hard. Plus he’s just joyously weird. Love this.

Tbh, I've neglected the UK rap scene after hearing some pure gash and being a US is best at it snob. Never gave it a chance. Recently started looking into it and there's so much talent I'm glad I ignored it as now I have so much to listen too.

High Focus stuff aside (which is great if all a little samey) I’ve not been a huge fan since it became mostly grime style or whatever that’s now evolved into, but the noughties era stuff is my favourite hip hop.

On the subject of silly rap songs, perhaps my favourite sub-genre, Esoteric from Czarface raps about eating a burrito and getting the shits

Oh my lord... What an opener to an album. Has to be one of my favourites along with 'Things Done Changed'.
Probably bad parenting but my 15 month old went nuts when the trumpets and bass kicked in. Can't help but be proud she's bouncing around to Killer Mike
Not sure nursery will approve though.
