Doesn't seem to be a place for Random Questions, so this wil have to do. I just did a Virtual Run through York (a 10k) from Aug 2021 and saw a T-Rex amongst the runners. Just wondering if that was the guy from here who did those charity runs a while back.

You load up a YouTube video of someone who did a run of "somewhere" and you run on you own machine while watching it. This morning's was www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1mfu5VwBxo&ab_channel=TreadmillVirtualRuns-Dr.Howey . I've "run" all over the world with this stuff. You can also use apps which link to Google Maps and show you images from their cars while increasing and decreasing your incline / resistance according to how the real world place you're running. |

Dammit, I wanted a real downtime of weeks. The slavering goons will be back in force now Couldn't give a shit about Facebook and Instagram, but WhatsApp is pretty important to keep in touch with family and friends around the world. So it going down is never a good thing tbh. (yes I know I could just use Signal or whatever but it's a faff to get everyone to use it) |

So nobody drinks tea. But you keep a box around, for the folks who come round to service the sparky or gaseous bits of the house. We last moved house spring of 2020. Time before that was in 2011.  We've diligently packed and unpacked, twice, tea at least four years past its best before date. Time of the last move it was 13 years past its prime. |

I joined my local area Facebook group and it's kind of fascinating.
There's a woman selling a hideous crushed velvet bed frame and mattress.
There's been several posts and in each one she seems increasingly amazed that no one wants this silver monstrosity.
The latest has "no time wasters" and "must go immediately" all caps as the realisation sets in that she's stuck with it.

It's crazy the trash some people try to get away with posting on those groups to save themselves a trip to the tip. I've seen a plastic stackable school chair with no legs be described as a "great project for an avid upcycler"

Oh there's gossip and drama too. Being London very occasionally a police helicopter will hover over the neighbourhood, usually there's someone who'll be able provide insight into why it's there and who they're chasing. Which is strangely satisfying.
