Conversations are generally a lot more interesting when you decide to bog yourself down in minor details. The website through which i bought them used the word 'winklepickers' in the description. I have no attachment to the term, so being corrected by a pair of master cobblers on the internet is something i truly appreciate. Thanks - i'd really just rather think of them as cowboy boots. So long as we are all in agreement that they are pretty badass and manly - macho even - then that's fine. Whatever. Fucking Walt. |

An unresponsive yo-yo is basically a yo-yo that doesn't come back up as easily, so you need to bind.
People can do what they want. Personally i found my old pair of boots to be a pretty good conversation starter, more than a handful of people were downright praising them, but i've become known for being a pretty good dresser anyway.
Maybe the new ones are a step too far, but to be honest, when i'm actually wearing them a lot of the detail will be lost to my trouser leg, and the stitching pattern becomes more of a grey,brown,black marbling in natural light... especially from the distance most people will be looking at them from.
Of course the women throwing themselves at my feet will have a better view of them... but in all honesty this place is where i get most of the external negativity in my life and i expect in reality things will be different as usual.

You do tend to see a lot of fit office women types throwing themselves at grown men dressed as cowboys these days to be fair to rod.

I don't dress like a cowboy - it's just the shoes. Day-to-day, i typically wear waistcoat/trouser combinations with a skinny tie. If i feel i need a little boost i'll wear the matching jacket, or a jacket i bought separately that goes with it.
I'll share a photo of an outfit i wore last week that got some praise from a couple of the women i work with, but i'm just waiting for my Burger King to be delivered so it might be in an hour or so.

You should set up an online evaluation form for your attire. You can give your female admirers a business card with a QR link on it. They could rate your seams out of ten (or any scale really). The results could be, how do you say, "surprising".
