At a one day conference, with a big dinner. The serving staff brought out silver trays with what looked like a large brain covered in white sauce, placed one in the middle of every table with great aplomb, and left the room. It was a rural area, everyone was looking about thinking, wtf, a whole brain?
Nope, they were large whole cauliflowers with cheese. Think they were just trolling...

Overcooked + any vegetable seems to be a recipe for disaster. I can't speak for cauliflower specifically but spinach for instance is absolutely horrid overcooked...

I keep meaning to get panko breadcrumbs for mac cheese, but never seem to see them on any of my shops.
Would imagine that'd be pretty banging sprinkled on top of a cauli cheese too for that crunch.

I was made to eat cauliflower cheese by a pushy dinner lady in primary school and puked everywhere because I hated. Still to this day the smell makes me want to vomit.
Same thing happened with bananas and custard a week later. She got asked to leave shortly after.

In fact, i just like a pie. It improves most things.
