The fundamental problem is that I am very, very white and I have no rhythm. I'm hoping my Fuck the Tories t-shirt will mean I'm not too out of place.

Anyone know any decent rock/punk/metal pubs in Bristol around the Temple Meads area where you can while away a few hours waiting for a gig to start? It's about 7 years since I was last in Brizzle, but the Gryphon was ace and it's right in the middle of town

Run the Jewels in June. Never been to a hiphop gig before. Rap is weird live, the bass is often too high in the mix and they basically do karaoke over their backing track.

Off to see Sleaford Mods at a local dive near me on Friday. Enjoy! They were my first gig back after lockdown. Last November i think. It was extra special just to hear live music again in a sweaty little club.

Sweaty little dives are where music should be listened to imo. Bugger stadiums and massive venues.

Tool were incredible then. Did briefly consider a trip to Europe for another show, if I had time I would

It was extra special just to hear live music again in a sweaty little club. Seen them a couple of times. Once at a local music festival (Bearded Theory) and later at the O2 in Liverpool. That was hands down the loudest gig I've ever seen. So glad we remembered the earplugs to take the edge off. Could still hear it the following evening. Was a great gig and defintely worked better indoors, though yeah, small venues are my preference too. The Comet is Coming at Metronone Nottingham was around 350-400 crowd and was one of my best gig experiences in recent years.

Did you Sleaford Mods kids see Mark Wrynn? There's an underrated nutter. Was a regular support act for them

It was very hot and sweaty and felt like we were all swimming in each other’s juices so if he gets CoVid I probably will too.

Dubioza Kolektiv at Leeds Uni's Stylus.
Great atmosphere and feels like ages since I last saw them pre lockdown.
Massive shout out to the security crew at the stage. There was a conveyor belt of crowd surfers and they didn't fail to help them down and back around into the crowd. Tbh, some people must have been round 5 times, more like kids on a slide but all the same, a great and friendly party.

Tears for Fears gig tomorrow. Should be a riot looking at the weather. Torrential rain and a massive thunderstorm at an outdoor arena.

Went to see The Lazy Eyes at Omeara in London last night. They were absolutely amazing. Rammed though as it was sold out.
That place has some of the best quality sound I've ever heard at a venue.
In fact they were so good that we're now driving 2 hours on Sunday to go and see them in Birmingham.

Gogol Bordello last night. Excellent. First gig at a venue that’s not a bar in years. Everyone there was having a blast. So many smiling faces. Very pleasant mosh pit. An older crowd, so hardly any phones being held up for more than a few moments. Great vibe and great music. Played for about two hours.
I’ve completely fucked my knees, especially the right. Perhaps going mental like I was 18 when I’m 48 in a couple weeks wasn’t smart. Probably should have not gone for the pogoing.
Fuck it tho. Had wayyy too much fun to let a little inability to put weight my leg get in the way of anything

Amazing live band, not seen them in *years*. I've got tickets for something else on the single evening they're playing in the UK on their currnent tour. THE SINGLE ONLY UK date with them traipsing all over Europe. How date they?

Brilliant entertainers.

Been almost 15 years since I saw them last. Also here in Tennessee, at Bonaroo. Having them play this town was a real surprise and boon. Guess we had the only venue of such size available at such short notice

Nice, great live band. Also not much of a fan of their music, but their gigs are a riot.
Just found out this Tears for Fears gig tonight is a double header with Garbage. And we have pavilion seats so at least I'm not getting rained on.

First gig I've been to in about 5 years and it's a naff nu-metal tribute lineup.
