I like to picture Gremmi quietly seething and gradually getting more worked up as we keep guessing the wrong game but he can't go postal on the train as he has to pretend he's human and not an image matching robot.

All right, then. The game is Kult, also known as Chamber of the Sci-Mutant Priestess. I played it on the Atari ST, but it's actually available on Steam now! I think I managed to complete it, it was a very interesting experience. Here'e the full screenshot:  |

That looks like Ultima, one of the later ones but which one i don't know. I have them but haven't played them yet, well not since the late 90s anyway.
