I only guessed it quickly because you mentioned needing a light. That narrowed it down to GBA and sci-fi.   Keeping with the current sci-fi theme. |

It's definitely 32-bit. I'm thinking a shootemup like Radiant Silvergun, Omega Boost, Raystorm. It could also be an RPG like Xenogears though.
I'm disqualified from guessing this round because I threw up too many guesses in one post, but I'm curious to see what it is when someone gets it.

*edit* Extra clue the writing in the bottom left corner is important, you can almost read the entire word and it would be a dead giveaway since no other games call this particular feature by that name.
