Winner, winner! Chicken Dinner. It is indeed Fatal Labyrinth! Here’s a full screenshot below.  Perhaps not the greatest game on the Mega Drive, but the random dungeon layouts kept me coming back to it as a child. In all honesty, it wasn’t the kind of game I expected when I first played it, but as it sat in my collection growing up, it eventually had me hooked. I never finished it, though! |

I know now why I sort of recognised it. I had Dragon Crystal for the Game Gear and I'm sure that used similar (or the same) assets. I never played Fatal Labyrinth though, but that slime in particular I'm sure was in Dragon Crystal.

Weirdly, I can recall slimes in other games that are eerily similar. Almost pancake shaped. Maybe in Ghostbusters or something? I guess Dragon Quest trademarked their Slime guy very wary on and nobody dared copy it.
