Simon Armitage Carol Anne Duffy Thank you GCSE Anthology I am absolutely sick of Duffy, at this point in my life. Can't we just analyse Jay Z or something? But yeah...sucks about Zephaniah. Great poet. Always gets an actual response from kids.

Dom Conlon is still going strong, I know this because we follow each other on social media and it would be a bit rude for me not to acknowledge it!

That’s sad, I only really knew his work on Halo Jones, but he’s obviously an icon.

Gibson was so good. Dredd is my favourite action comic strip (superhero/adjacent) so naturally that’s where my appreciated of his stuff is situated but Halo is undeniable.
After Carlos going a little while back as well I think we’re reaching the point where that whole generation who dragged British comics up from being “for kids” into something more ambitious and grown are starting to move on. And they really were influential considering that they helped lead to the modernisation of DC in the 80s and all that led to and even the current run of Doctor Who specials started with a Pat Mills and Brian Bolland story.

His Robo-Hunter stuff is my favourite of his work, he would go absolutely nuts with some of the designs and his art style was very clean and distinct.
Along with Carlos Ezquerra, Kevin O'Neill and Steve Dillon's death, Steve's death was a fucking tragedy in how he went, a lot of the 2000AD artists I grew up with are no longer with us.
Star Beast was drawn by Dave Gibbons (thankfully still alive) not Brian Bolland (also thankfully still alive).

Genuinely sad as I grew up on his stuff.
Kinda hits home, as im probably about the same age now as he was when I first encountered his work, and I don't have anything near as good to my name.
Rip.

That's absolutely gutting. Definitely my favourite part of Brooklyn, which is saying something given its ensemble nature. Also, his performance as the tragic misfit Thomas in Glory is heartbreaking. That character always stuck with me - and I only found out when I rewatched it a couple of years ago that it was André Braugher.

Not the news I wanted to wake up to this morning. Brooklyn 99 is getting another binge watch in my house at the moment. They just got back on to the day shift last night.

B99 is good fun. It can be a bit hit or miss at times and much relies on you liking the characters. They can be annoying but there's a charm with that too.

Raymomd Holt is easily the best part of B99, he was so good in it.

I think there is definitely an argument to be made that Captain Raymond Holt is one of the all time great sitcom characters.
Just little things and his delivery absolutely kill me. The episode where he is having marriage issues and is trying to avoid Kevin, so he shouts 'RAYMOND HOLT ENTERING THE KITCHEN' as he walks around the house has always has me howling.

Oh fuck off Death you absolute arse, Andre Braugher was a a fantastic actor, as much as I loved him in the Nine-Nine he really showed how good he was in Homicide. Frank Pembleton was a great character and to play someone recovering from a stroke (which happened mid interrogation) and do it so well was excellent.

I used to love Homicide and his Pembleton was a cornerstone of that show. Way too young.
