I think the surprising thing about Dickie Davies is that I was shocked he was actually still alive, well until today anyway.

DD the forerunner to Jeffers, used to enjoy watching in the 1980's. A great age to get to.

Aw I’m amazed he was “only” 77. He’s been around forever.

Yeah that surprised me a bit at him being only 77, he seemed to be an old bloke for my entire football watching life.
I imagine David Squires well be devoting a lot if not all of his cartoon next week to the legend.

Everyone who lived through the '70s came out looking 20 years older than they actually were. It was that sort of decade.

I think Gen-X just stopped looking our age in comparison to our parents, better diet, actually using sunscreen and fewer people smoking helps. I'm not Paul Rudd but I don't look like 52 year old blokes looked like when I was younger.

Wasn’t Last of the Summer Wine originally about newly retired people same as One Foot in the Grave?

His faithful wig was entombed with him like the pharaohs of old.

Man alive (not anymore), those are some eyebrows! Turned out the eyebrows were slowly draining his life force. Now they are free from the body they were feeding from, they have formed a rudimentary folk duo and can be caught most weekends playing in bars along the south coast.

He helped shape modern politics. It seems so commonplace now, for politicians to lie through their fucking cunting teeth on TV and radio, morning noon and night, but Ingham pioneered it. He could brazenly talk utter, indefensible shit on the morning radio, and still be lying, live on Newsnight, with a full day misleading, dissembling and then demeaning anyone who asked a question in between.
Hopefully many more Tories will continue to follow him now.

This thread is more ghoulish than I remember. Should a suffix be added to the thread name - "Who's next..?"

I propose a rename to The "What Celebrity Doth Yonder Bell Toll For?" Thread.
