Holy shitballs, he also did Dropzone! 2 of my favourite C64 games.

Fuck. Archer Maclean was one of those star game makers along with Jeff Minter, Braben and Bell and Geoff Crammond who kept me enthralled during my C64 and Amiga days.

Aw man. Blake's 7 was essential viewing back in the day.
Sad times. 😢
My childhood & teenage music memories are being devastated of late.
Must be getting old! 😕

I’m kind of surprised they never picked up Blake’s 7 for a modern revival when Doctor Who was so successful.
I could totally have seen it being commissioned as a budget miniseries on BBC4 back when it still produced original content - like they did with Day of the Triffids and Quatermass or even the extremely budget Dirk Gently adaptation they did with Stephen Mangan

That sucks. I always enjoyed Bremner, Bird and Fortune back in the day.

Such an underrated comic actor considering how long his cv is. Would never have guessed he was so old either.

Vivienne Westwood, 81. RIP.
I'm only brining joy to you tonight...
Bugger.

Pele and Westwood is too much of a coincidence. Never saw them together did you.

I know this World Cup has been a big one for football banter accounts arguing over whether Ronaldo or Messi is the greatest of all time but it really is Pele, isn’t it?

It's pointless comparing players from different generations, and different positions.
Though Maradona was the greatest.

Bit harsh calling him a Buffoon, he was only giving an opinion.

I was having this conversation with a mate as to who is the "next level" football genius. I said that one of the things is we just don't have the quality of footage of players/ people from about the 1970s and backwards. That way, they take up this mystique and we have to rely on witnesses.
Now, I can probably find a video of Messi doing a cheeky finger sniff and it sort of takes away the magic.

The video of Pele doing all the tricks and feints etc that others that followed were renowned for kinda suggested to me that he was the GOAT. He also did it in an age where there were no bookings, yellow or red cards. But ultimately it is a bit pointless as you'll never know so best to just enjoy them all.

Bert Troutman was the 🐐 purely as I was in awe of tales growing up about how he played the second half of the FA Cup final with a broken neck and that Man City’s trophy cabinet had a German WWII helmet and parachute in it.
Going to games with my dad as a kid always meant starting in a pub tap room - such an education.

Yeah, was proper folklore for all fans on the 80s, regardless of team. Double hard.

But could he do it on a rainy night in Stoke??
