It takes a while and I took my fair share of bites in the early days! To a point I thought he’d never really accept me into the feather clan. However he now accepts me, but if I get anything wrong I still get bites. They just don’t draw blood now.
Birds eh.

Snap, one of mine is having a birthday as well. We've got him some sausage's for breakfast, dog beer, some new chew toys, cake and a birthday hat. Nice walk on on Salisbury plain and being a dope. Stop being a miserable bastard and spoil the dog, you'll wish you did when it's gone. Well, he also got a posh name tag, a blanket that he has christened with some appalling sexual activity, and was sung to as we presented him with his cake (he fears candles, apparently).

That cat turned up again this morning (and last night). I suspect it has me down as a sucker. Last night it went to the trouble of being on the roof and faking it. This morning it was just at the door demanding food.
My own cats were livid. Had we had a bird, my cats would have been spitting feathers.

I haven't. What I did do was check the local area to make sure no cats have gone missing (its not got a collar) and left it some water. It is not fat at the moment (the opposite), so I am keeping an eye on it in case its lost.

Major... why are you... Apparently he now self identifies as a wheelbarrow. Dogs are weird.

Most likely, he's a boxer. Professional droolers.

He's actually not very dribbly. Sometimes when he is out and about running with his friends, he gets a bit.
I'm afraid that's the patio drying out.

Pets. Our first rescue cat, black and white (of course, who wants a boring black and white cat?).
Been with us for 12 years now. Permanent weeping right eye. She was a proper street cat. Even now when it rains she takes herself off and sits outside, under a table or something else. Odd.
When we first got her she was the most loving, purry cat ever. That lasted 2 weeks. Then she started attacking us. If she got 'over' fussed she would fight back! It took us nearly 2 years of hissing at her if she got shitty with us (was dumped/taken away from mum at a very early age, and so had had no discipline - so the theories went) and giving her the bare minimum of fuss - hopefully leaving her wanting more.
And it worked. She still hates me, loves my better half. Still, she's off the street, has a good home, and, and...
That's why I kept one of our foster cats. Big black bruiser, proper pet. Loving, always wanting attention, talkative, nudging, etc. It's a balance.
And then there's our dog. You can see her on the front cover of Michael Morpurgo's book A Medal for Leroy. And her picture was bought for £250.00 at a charity auction for Battersea dogs Home. Go figure.
Pets, gotta love them.

Nothing wrong with black and white cats. We had one and in the sun her fur had a lovely dark brown sheen, hence the name Whisky
She was really dribbly towards the end, usually walking around with it hanging off her chin. Fear the head shake

Ha, your cat sounds like one of mine. Loving when he wants to be, but on his terms. Catch him at the wrong moment and he'll warn you first, then hiss, swipe, nip etc. And then hiss at you every time you go within 5 ft of him. And then other times when you least expect it, he'll come and sit on your face.

Ignorance is bliss with the whining. Leave the room, come back in with a treat when he's quiet for a bit, repeat. Never acknowledge or reward the whines at all

Yeah, you have to struggle through it and don't give in to the demands. Be consistent, reinforce positive behaviour and he'll learn.

Crate training is tough with a puppy (heart breaking), but it pays off big time. Stick at it.

Yeah I'm the heartless one saying we should ignore him, it's my gf who's giving in. Mainly because she's worried what the neighbours will think...

It's a safe space for the dog, replicating a den that wild dogs would be brought up in by their mothers.
It helps with house training as dogs don't like to go to the toilet where they sleep, and so they hold on longer. So it's perfect for them to sleep in overnight as you can be pretty sure they haven't wee'd while you've been asleep.
It also helps if you can't supervise them during the day for say an hour. While they're a puppy you basically have to watch them the whole time in case they suddenly wee somewhere. While they're in the crate you know that won't happen. It also helps to calm them down, and also helps with separation anxiety as they get used to being on their own.
