He's been feeling very sleepy the last two days due to his jab. He's been mostly asleep on the sofa today.
Night time can be a different story. I've had 3-4 hours of sleep each night.

Danno Yeah we're crating him in our bedroom to help with the toilet training, and have to wake up 3-4 times a night at the moment. He's been struggling with the crate a bit and mostly wants to play when he wakes up for a wee, so we're trying to calm him down with varying degrees of success.

I lived in a flat on the 3rd floor when training Milly and getting her out of the building without some combination of zoomies and yaps/pee in the flat/pee in the lift/pee on me took over a week to iron out.

Thanks Cubby. My wife was stroking my laptop (wish that was a euphamism, but its not) when I showed her the latest pic. I said it looks like a baby predator, which she was appalled by. Apparently he looks cute. I heard this many times.

He is a miniature predator, the little fox toy can attest to that!

Yikes. It's a bit of a faff doing it here as our house is a bit weird, but 3 floors sounds like a nightmare. He's done a poo and 3 wees indoors today, which technically is the worst day so far. You think you're making progress with the signs and he decides to mix things up. Today I waited for ages for him to wee, he was adamant he didn't need to (I knew better), so reluctantly I took him back in and 2 minutes later he's making a tiny puddle. Smiley adorable bastard.

We're moving house in a few days, not quite sure what to do with the two cats, they tolerate each other but will have a bit of a punchup, usually only a second or two and they stop when we intervene, they're not jabbed so can't go to a cattery, we were thinking of locking them both in a bedroom before the removers arrive and once they've cleared another bedroom we transfer them both to that one, they'll just have to get on with it whilst they're locked in a room, they'd have a litter tray though they've not used a tray for years, not sure what else we can do. I guess we could bundle them into their cages but that seems a little drastic, or am I just being soppy? Only went and moved house and forgot the cats didn't we! Received a call from the agent about an hour after we'd left. To say that the new owners were pissed off is the understatement of the year, at least they were in their cat boxes though thank goodness. Fuck the new owners, I was all ready to drop in a shed load of manuals for the appliances/alarm etc I'd also forgotten to leave but that'll go in the bin now.

Yeah the first few weeks are a nightmare sandwiched with lovliness. Given everything you've said already though, you're impressively well prepped compared to the average newbie dog owner. You will, WILL find something later agter socialising - despite thinking you covered everything - that he hates. Getting small kids that go "oooohhh doggee" and try to touch him with chupa chup claws, yummy mummies, and other dogs out of the way is the main thing imo. He's too cute to resist. Can recommend early and frequent trips to loud, busy places, city centre / shopping centres on the weekend sort of thing. Our big one was escalators, Milly hated them which made using the tube a bit awkward, so we spent half an hour going round and round on a set near London Bridge station, probably with some laser sights on our heads towards the end. It worked though.

It worked though. Yeah having a friend who's a dog trainer definitely helps prepare you a bit more! She's been drilling the mantra to socialise him ASAP. Today I went to Pets At Home and then sat outside Tesco while my partner did a shop, trying my best not to look like the child snatcher.

We set Dudley up a play area with his crate for during the day if my partner needs to leave him for a bit. He just hauled that blue and pink toy away from his food bowl as it was in the way (dunno what criminal left it there), went to great lengths to drag it to the crate and then walked the long way round back to the food bowl. Then once he finished his dinner he went back to the lamb and forcibly evicted it out of the crate, dragged it under the table and gave it a good shouting to. Him and the lamb have some stuff to work through.

The pink lamb needs to learn boundaries. Dudley needs his personal space.

The cats are settling in nicely in the new house, mooching around the house exploring albeit with a forced dry food diet as the Whiskas has been packed away I don't know where, I'll grab some tomorrow, found one of them with her ass sticking out the loo having a drink even though they have water, not that I've ever seen them drink from their water dish.

Cats are well weird like that. One of mine will happily drink out of the sink and all sorts. I found glass bowls makes them drink more, for some reason. And making sure it's well away from food, with another in a different room.if possible too.

Also, more seriously, which pet insurance do the brits here use?

So er... When do these small doggos stop weeing all over the floor? Need to get them out more, they only have teeny bladders. And stay absolutely consistent, because they can backslide just as you think you're done toilet training. Getting rid of any trace of the smell with a proper cleaner helps a lot as well

Are you using puppy pads? If so get rid of them. And just loads and loads of praise when they go outside. Just going to have loads of trips to the garden.
Our first dog we lived in a 5th floor flat in Brighton. I was up and down so much my calves would have put mothercruncher to shame. .

Also, more seriously, which pet insurance do the brits here use? Petplan. But I've not had to make a claim so I can't tell you if they're any good when the chips are down. The excess means that any procedure that can be done in one day or requires run of the mill treatment (e.g. antibiotics) isn't worth claiming on. Not sure that would be much different with any other underwriters mind.

No puppy pads. Taking him out after he eats or drinks, after naps, if we think he hasn't gone out in 10 minutes. We clean up any mess with an enzyme cleaner. The torch on my phone is permanently on for when I'm outside looking for poos and wees. I'm basically wearing a coat all the time.
And he still finds times to wee on the floor between all those moments.
