CDKeys are flogging 6 month UK Gold codes for £12.79 currently for anyone looking to stock up and convert to Game Pass. Could conceivably stack 3 years for £77 + whatever the cheapest/shortest Ultimate code you can find is. cheapest deal in a while and better when i had to do at cdkeys after mine had expired actually you'd only need 5 x 6 months codes, should get a free month with any Gold or GP code activation if say yes to recurring billing then turn it off after.

Forgot about the free months, well remembered. Although that hasn't always popped for me in that past, but definitely worth looking at as you redeem these.

nice heads up thanks, I was going buy a few thinking my GP was expiring soon but I've still got until November 2024 from a previous Gold conversion, does anyone know if you can stack up now with some of those 3 monthers if still have a good 18 months left?

You can stack up Ultimate codes all you want (up to the maximum).
Only exception is some of the shorter 1 month "trial" codes which aren't stackable and are only for new accounts.
Obviously adding Gold codes to an existing Ultimate subscription will down-convert them into equivalent(ish) value though. A 6 month Gold code currenly converts to 79 days of Ultimate on an active subscription for example.
The 1:1 conversion can only be done when you're not currently subscribed.

This is such a pointless complaint, but it’s annoying whenever the GamePass Quest to level up or avenge a player in Assassin’s Creed Origins pops up, because it’s an older game so I’d completed it ages ago, so it’s tough to level up with no quests, and nobody’s playing it so there are no players to avenge. It’s just grinding animals and thieves I guess.
On a less whiny note, Egypt is still gorgeous and a pleasure to explore. This and Odyssey were so great. Shame Valhalla shit the bed.

Good thing I reupped for two years last month. I figured that might happen.
On a related note, I can’t seem to redeem the new GwG from last week. Keeps telling to subscribe to Gold, despite being on Ultimate.

3 years in to last gen we were getting PS4 Pro at the same price that the base PS4 launched at. 3 years in to this gen and the consoles have raised in price.
Everyone's got bigger problems but it's another little bit of evidence to add on to the pile that we're getting gouged for every penny.

Inevitable, obviously, in fairness to them they held out longer than just about every other company that fleeces me regularly.
I'd probably care more if £2 a month wasn't so utterly inconsequential in the overall scheme of my own cost of living increases.
Don't get me wrong, being gauged for more money from a company who's profits number in the billions is fucking shite, but the pack of ham we buy from Aldi every week has gone up by nearly that much.

I'm locked into BT's wanky subscription takeover thing for a few more months. I should hopefully have 2 years left on my account proper when it switches back, but I bet that won't be the case and it's been ticking down.

Might buy myself a couple of spare Series Xs to tide me over, before the gouging begins.

Keeps telling to subscribe to Gold, despite being on Ultimate. Yeah same issue here with GwG, says I need to subscribe to Gold to get either 'The Vale' or 'Adios' - it seems to no longer treat Gold as part of Ultimate, at least in part. Gold price discounts aren't available either. They'll probably notice and fix it eventually, or it's part of some gradual removal of the deal. Strange one.

I have no intention to sub to gamepass no matter what. I bought all the BC games I wanted physically and 10 digitally (around 40 titles) for 200 euro. Thats around 1 year of gamepass. I am really excited for starfield which will be my first current gen purchase for the machine.

€200?! I take it you haven't heard of the gold conversion?
£35 for a year from cdkeys. Stack 3 years, redeem game pass trial and bosh. Think it can be done cheaper if you get shorter subs and let it turn on auto renew when you redeem each one.

Indeed. And considering it's the first price increase since GP launched 6 years ago.

I just pay for Game Pass with reward points. It's currently 35k points for three months GPU (not sure if they plan to raise that in the near future...). Through completing the daily MS Rewards quizzes and the dashboard activities, I've got 70k points and my GP runs out in (I think) August.
So I'm just gonna keep doing that, although I may want to upgrade to the family plan when that launches so I'll have to see if that's doable through reward points.

You can auto redeem your rewards points for 10,500 for 1 month GPU. A little saving on the 35k for 3 months.
I done the gold conversion in 2019 with 2.5 years gold. Since then I’ve not paid a penny more for it. Currently into 2026, maxed out at 3 years.

So I've been trying to work out what the Friends & Family plan will cost in the UK, and theoretically how much it might be in terms of MS Reward Points assuming they do a similar offer.
It's available in Ireland at the moment and costs €21.99, which I think will translate to £19.99 in the UK as prices for Game Pass in the EU are usually a euro or two more than the GBP value, and they'll want to try to keep it below the psychological £20 barrier.
35,000 points gives you (roughly) £33 worth of GPU. Three months of the family plan will be approx £60; therefore presumably it'll be between 60 and 65k reward points to claim.
That's quite a lot... best start saving!

NFS Unbound added, nice. I had that on the someday/maybe wishlist to buy when it's cheap. Likewise someday/maybe on getting around to playing it.
also Arcade Paradise coming 3/7, i'd wanted to give that a go too.

I had no problem with the switch back like some have, totally seamless. Just make sure auto renew is off on the BT side. Actually considering bumping up my BT line to 900mb as for £3 more a month I get 12 months gamepass.

Had no idea F.I.S.T. Forged In Shadow Torch was being ported to Xbox, but it’s on GamePass. Nice metroidvania starring a bunny with a giant punching arm and set in what looks like a blend of Shanghai and Midgar from FFVII.

Bramble the mountain king is brilliant for anyone that likes little nightmares/limbo like experiences, it's pretty dark.
Runs at about 4 hours 30 mins.

Can anyone help with some suggestions for some 2 player games for me and my significant other? We’ve just finished yet another Stardew Valley playthrough and are looking for something with a bit of meat on it.
She’s into pretty much all genres. We’ve exhausted the Switch library for the most part and having spent an hour of the recent Lego Star Wars game, we’ve decided that’s not for us.
Annoyingly, even though I have 2 Xbox, I need something split screen as my stupid 5G Wi-Fi contraption is woeful.

A way out Grounded Overcooked 2 It takes two Can’t guarantee all those are split screen. It takes two is quite brilliant though.

Kingdom Two Crowns maybe?

It's got a bit of a steep learning curve but me and the boy got utterly addicted to Terraria a year or so ago. It's bloody great. Unless they've taken it off and I've not noticed, it should still be on GP.
