Just doing the xbox mobile app is 300 points a day. I still don’t have that tab on the app I’ve heard that it’s apparently random whether you get it or not.

I usually get a couple of games a year out of the rewards program, certainly enough for 2 full price releases, maybe more.
I'm not religious about it either, I used to get annoyed if I lost a streak, but it doesn't make a great deal of difference really. I just do the searches and the other Xbox quest stuff gets taken care of by playing games mostly.

Chaps, can someone refresh my aging brain re the Gamepass £1 "hack" thing. My subscription ends on 4/2/23. I'm thinking let it lapse for a day , then buy 3 years of GOLD but forget the next step to convert to 3 years of Ultimate!!!! TY

You buy your three years of Gold and add that to your account and then buy 14 days or 1 month of Ultimate and it will auto convert the whole lot.... I think. Current sub has to be lapsed. The £1 trick doesn't work anymore and is now the £12 trick as you do it with a 1 month ultimate sub instead. Still huge savings.

Mine runs out next month, going to stock up on a full three years this time.
Wonder if they'll ever shut down this trick?

The £1 offer on the xbox dashboard does return but your waiting for the 3 or 4 times a year they do it, you can just buy a 7 day game pass ultimate key if its cheaper at the time.

Cheers rich I will do that then So the "I think" can anyone confirm ? That's what I did as well. Bought 3 years of Turkish Xbox gold from ENEBA and then used my rewards points to get £10 off a 1-month Game Pass Ultimate sub. That was in March 2022. Reddit guide here.

Just to confirm once I buy the 3 years Gold (already have standing by) and put onto my account, can I then use a 14 day Ultimate code (got free with xbox) and it will convert the 3 years of Gold ? I do I need to actually purchase say 1 month of ultimate ? Sorry for continued denseness. Thankyouplease.

I've read some people say it works, but others say it doesn't, so I guess you could buy the one month code just to be sure? I mean, it's still a massive saving. One thing to remember - when you use a code, you might be asked if you want a free extra month of Gold by turning on auto-renew. Do NOT do this. If you do, you'll have 13 months, and you won't be able to use your last code (since you can't redeem any Gold codes that would make you go beyond 36 months).

I’m not sure those 14 day free things are usable unless it’s your first time.

I shouldn’t be this excited about a 25 year old game just popping up on gamepass today, but Age of Empires 2 is a thing that I didn’t even realise was coming. Amazing scenes.

Gonna have to find some YouTube videos on how the controls work for AoE because I just can't imagine it!

I was under the impression you could turn off the auto renewal after each code was entered and turn it back on again after each live code was entered? I'm sure that's what I did last time following instructions from a thread on HUKD. It's been awhile since then ofc. Edit: ignore the above. I missed the part about already having 3 years of gold. I had 18 months using x3 6 months gold codes.

Having tried the tutorial, AoE2 seems pretty good. The villagers can be easily directed, and figure it out themselves most of the time. Hold d-pad to select melee, cavalry, ranged or siege. You can queue commands, quick commands seem intuitive too.
They could improve the very clunky menus, and overall responsiveness (on Series X), but it's impressive so far, and seems to have a large amount of content.
Like there isn't enough to play already but looks great regardless, and probably best implementation of standard RTS on console / 10

I never played it but played many similar games and loved them. Not sure I'm still that person though who has the patience to sit and play this type of game.

I played the opening tutorial last night and I have say it looks fantastic in 4K on a big TV. Controller support while functional seems a bit clunky but you can connect keyboard/mouse and I assume doing so switches the hud back to the traditional one.
I am absolutely ready for 5 hour multiplayer matches again.

I want to play it but I think I have 18 games installed and about 15 of them I'm meant to be starting.

I want to play it but I think I have 18 games installed and about 15 of them I'm meant to be starting. This is my constant state of play. I've had What Remains Of Edith Finch on my dashboard for years, waiting for an evening when I feel like starting it. Same applies to RE2 remake. I did start Grounded last week after it sat there for months (it's good! But I probably won't finish it!)

It's phenomenal and only takes about 2/3 hours but is well worth it.

I didn't get on with most 'walking simulators' but Edith Finch was quality.
Don't think I'll ever scrub some scenes from my head - particularly the fish sequence.
