That, or he's too goddamn stupid to learn lessons about anything. I reckon he has a memory a goldfish would pity.
And where the hell does the Daily Mail get off blasting Yaxley-Lennon on today's front page, when they're the single worst publication in the country for spewing racist bullshit on a... well, daily basis?

I imagine it's simply a case of posting that kind of stuff earns him serious bank from some shady funders. The whole 'surely this person can't be that fucking stupid.. " logic ceases once you bake in the income.
Obviously you need to be a cunt with no ethics but can't see how else these washed up hacks could attain such a lifestyle.

Declare social media as publishers. Same regulations as newspapers, TV, radio etc Would that make user neilka legally responsible for anything we say on here?

I'm finding this all too depressing and anxiety inducing tbh, very tempted to just block it all out for a bit. Not very socially responsible but frankly all of this is making me hate people more than usual.
Not just the initial attacks, but the right wing reaction, and frankly I'm seeing some of that rhetoric get to people who aren't politically aligned. My dad was saying something along the lines of "how can Starmer say they were right wing?" and I know he watches shit on YouTube. It's generally been quite benign but easy to see how someone naive could get sucked into the algorithm rabbit hole.
This both sides bollocks is doing my head in too. It shouldn't even be up for discussion but it is, apparently.
And yeah it's easy to point and laugh at Lozza, because look at him, but even just voicing fat opinions like those infects the discourse. He's no leader but the message still seeps out, like diarrhea in a pool.
Wish it was possible to just destroy YouTube and Twitter. Whatever benefits it offers have been outweighed by those using it in bad faith.
Good I fucking hate this country and people in general. So yeah, I'm just going to avoid reports saved this thread, I need to live in ignorant bliss for my sanity.

How the fuck is there both sides here? It's one thing I am relieved about with the Govt response, none of that bullshit.

I liked the idea I saw on Reddit of spraying the fuckers with that dye that you can't get off for weeks and then slowly rounding them up. I'm sure there is a reason why it wouldn't work when you get down to the details but at least it would ruin a few of their favourite Lonsdale tracksuits.

I don’t think the coverage has really both sides it all. Apart from using the word protests alongside riots when just riots will do and one report (Bolton?) of the local Asian community fighting back.
I do think there needs to be more upfront commentary on why this is happening and who is inspiring / has inspired it.
Said it a couple of pages ago but these mobs are literally chanting things that our last PM had displayed on a podium earlier this year, and it goes way back before then too. Even before we get to the shamelessness of the Mail and Express clutching their pearls over the thing they’ve wanted for years finally happening.

The fact they're rioting about the dangers of Islam and Immigration in response to a non-Islamic British-born person means that the only 'both sides' there can be is that they're either (a) dumb, or (b) wrong. Or dumb and wrong if we're going both sides.

How the fuck is there both sides here? It's one thing I am relieved about with the Govt response, none of that bullshit. Government response is clear, but I've heard and seen an uncomfortable amount of both sidery, or people doubting Starmer's description of the cunts as far right, or similar, both online and in person (again, the latter a point being picked up my dad). It's my Dad's birthday in a few weeks so will be seeing family. I just hope nobody starts to soapbox and parrot opinions they read in their choice of rags or dubious social media posts as I might end up saying something I regret, because I'm an emotionally stunted twat who can't counter those views without getting angry and swearing.

I wasn't there for any of it, but I understand my aunt had a no politics rule for family gatherings around the Brexit vote - I'm guessing my cousin's had differing views. Maybe that could be instituted by a senior family member if you asked?

I'm certainly going to ask her to stop, but my sister likes to pick at things.
To be clear I don't think any of my family are actually fascist, they're just quite gullible, and possibly thick, and swallow whatever bile they're fed.
I think my nieces are a bit more savvy though, ones just finishing uni and the other will be starting.
It is interesting how most of the daft bastards and racists seem to be people who didn't go to uni. And the biggest casual racists of all tend to be people who never let their exclusively white village.
Almost like going away and meeting people from different backgrounds makes you less of a bigot.

Genuinely hope I get to see more apologies like this in the coming weeks and really hope those online spouting similar opinions are bricking it a bit this morning. Maybe you should have thought about your 2 year old before wanting to stab some migrants eh? Not gonna be at the birthday party.

Ahh, yes. It's always comments that were "taken out of context". As usual, you scratch a bit and under the surface they're complete cowards. Well I guess him and many other people are finding out that the dildo of consequence rarely comes lubed.

Fundamentally, as valid as you think your ‘concerns’ may be it’s the same as that old meme. If you are at a ‘protest’ and there are nazis there not being told to fuck off, you’re at a nazi rally.
No matter what these people say, you’re standing shoulder to shoulder with people with swastikas tattooed on the back of their heads. Get some perspective, idiots.

A non-violent hate march is still a hate march. If you are attending any of these meet ups and just wanting to protest instead of riot, you are still telling everyone that you hate some people because of the place they are born/where their parents are born/the colour of their skin.
That isn't to say that there isn't a grown-up conversation to have around immigration (a conversation where the outcome is very likely to be "we need a lot of immigrants", no matter what the snake oil merchants tell you). The numbers are likely to grow over the coming years* and the countries that have collapsing birth rates aren't the ones with different looking people.
I just hope that this is the final death cries of a collapsing group.
*Recently read a book called The Short History of Migration and it mentions there that the stats show that immigration rates over the past 100 years (when you started seeing nations closing down their borders and making it harder for people to cross them) have stayed at about 3% of the global population. I expect that will increase when the effects of climate change really start to kick in.

That's the thing, with climate change, the UK is going to get far more desirable. The government should be sowing the seeds of acceptance and compassion, but we've had 15 years of Tories doing the exact opposite.
I avoid the news like the plague as it fucks with my mental health, so I'd rather not know about any of this. But they came to Bristol and it really hit me hard. I just think about what my son would have thought if we'd got caught up in it and it makes me want to cry.
They're all just fucking gullible idiots getting manipulated and they will never wake up to it.

Farage has broken his long silence. He is really appalled by all the violence... but then spends most of the message going on about two-tier policing and how you can't say anything now without being called a racist.

Why are the police being so heavy handed with these violent protesters when they barely touched those peaceful ones? It's clearly a two tier system and absolutely outrageous!!!
