And why single out the BBC when it's being covered live on other news outlets? I agree it's not just the BBC but if watched them you'd see, there isn't actually that much to report, they repeat the exact same thing about every 10mins, the same bits of footage, the same silly interviews, it doesn't need live coverage until something else happens. In contact The World Service doesn't do, a few minutes on the hour then back to reporting on the rest of the world. That's a general 24 Hr rolling news problem. That I also don't like.
Although at the BBC it has been exacerbated recently by the reorganisation of the News Channel due to the budget problems caused by the license fee being frozen for god knows how many years.
Before, they could have switched out for suitable alternative content for UK audiences. But now there's only the one channel they can't switch to UK based content, because viewers in Idaho or Bangkok aren't bothered about stories that might be of UK national importance, but zero importance on a global scale.
The roots of pretty much any complaint anyone has about the BBC, is caused by the death by a thousand cuts that that Tories are doing to it. But no one ever blames them.

My old dear never grasped that it wasn't that she had to pay the licence fee.

I do wonder if there's a number that overseas news outlets have now before they'll cover a mass shooting in the US. They must have a threshold as they're so frequent now.

Seems like Maine has almost zero gun legislation.
No background or registration required for private sales. No permits required for concealed or open carry. No link to mental health issues.
This dude seems to have heard voices telling him to shoot up the army base he worked at as a firearms instructor.
Really nobody could possibly have foreseen this shooting. A total surprise.

It's alright. They're going to fly the Capitol flags at half mast. Phew.

That's great news. I'm really glad we've been able to get through this together. It bodes well for the next one.

It's OK they've got it covered, (quoted from the BBC) Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Maine Senator Susan Collins called for a ban on high-capacity magazines.

presumably the constitution is fine with 30 innocents gunned down between re-loads but draws the line at 50*

Might vary slightly depending on if it's rifled for .223 Remington, 5.56 Nato or something entirely custom.

Utterly bizarre stuff in the early hours (our time) of the police seemingly thinking the shooter had returned to his house and they were telling him to surrender with his hands up.
He wasn't there and they buggered off after a while.
Good luck to the people of Maine with law enforcement like that.

Sounds like they need to send in some good guys with guns. Have they tried that yet?

According to the new House speaker all this unfortunate bother is down to divorce and women having abortions. They're already doing god's work on abortions, once women are trapped in abusive and loveless relationships then America will be god's country again which will be a beautiful day. Once they get rid of all the browns and keep a few around to clean people's homes, build and maintain things, be valets and work in the service industry then all will be well.

The new house speaker is a massive fucking cunt.
Anyone who thinks a religious text to instruct them in morality and right from wrong is sick in the head.

I would hazard a guess that behind closed doors they live their lives very much at odds with what they 'preach' - theatre to keep the GOP nutters in line. The really worrying thing is they cannot divert from this path now - if they do, all the nutters they've coveted will turn on them.

To a point. All signs seem to point to this absolute nutsack being a true believer.

Conor McGregor being as measured in posting a response as always about "people who should never have been here" leading to something like today happening. Usual pricks online goading all the rioting on.

Usual pricks online goading all the rioting on. And they’d also be the first to fume if someone posted the same about the massive Irish community in Brum. I wish we could get rid of the knobheads for just one day so that we could see how nice the world could be

Let's move to attempted murder. Despite what this account tries to say, a lot of the people staying in that hotel are on holiday.

I feel a bit wrong that when I first saw this Tweet it made me remember how good the LVU Campus map was in Rainbow Six: Vegas. My SPAS12 took out a lot of EGers.
