And before you start, Morgan is not a good alternative, however boobily she is titting about with her big gun. Mental. M-E-N-T-A-L Aye, she's way too used to long barrels and also has access to far too many ways to quietly (or loudly!) "disappear" you. Don't stick your dick in crazy, Jambo! You know how to make friends. Jesus.

Don't worry.
You're better off with a short barrel at close quarters anyway.

Ranges and target shooting are generally more popular than skeet or clay pigeon. An ex-buddy of mine used to take AK47s out to the desert to fire off at exploding targets. Effectively he’d go out into the middle of nowhere, spend an hour or so mining an acre or two, then go hog wild.

Indeed. Has he tried a guitar through a JCM900 at 10s? Probably has a similar effect but all you have to do is plug in

The US has a combination of factors. An unwillingness or inability to identify mental health issues with young men, decades of alienating propaganda around idealised lifestyles and instant access to mass murder weapons. The only criteria to owning an assault rifle in Texas is that you are 18 years old. That's absolutely absurd.
School shootings now so established in the culture that each one encourages and legitimizes it as a course of action for angry and disaffected young men.

Easy starting point: Conservative America covets narcissistic, sociopathic personality traits.

In a normal country, people should (and can) be able to own guns, My brain has never grokked this argument. But anyway... The thing I don't get is that the courts in America seem to interpret the constitutional right to bear arms in a very different way from the way they interpret other rights. There are lots of other rights that are limited or restricted in specific circumstances. The most obvious one being free speech vs pornography. As such, it seems like the basic idea that, 'even if you have a constitutional right to guns, the government can place some reasonable requirements or limits on it' has already been accepted in other areas. While I don't personally agree, I get the argument that for a farmer in a rural area owning a shotgun might feel necessary. There's never going to be an outright ban on guns in the US, so some kind of logical and well thought out compromise between both sides seems necessary. Proper gun licenses similar to driving licenses, plus high taxes, seem like the obvious step, and you'd think that these kind of events would be enough to kick start a cross-party group working constructively on a compromise solution. Though of course I realize that the discussion over there has gone so extremist partisan that that's never going to happen. Though I think most american people actually *do* support gun control, it's the politicians who are against it. I'd have thought the risk of your own kids getting slaughtered simply for going to school would be enough for a lot of parents to prioritize it as a political issue.. but apparently not. I guess the highly political nature of the supreme court over there is a problem in this case, and similar ones. Prevents much compromise and makes everything very all-or-nothing.

I think Americans maybe support gun control in the abstract. But when it comes to actually proposing things to tighten gun control, it is strongly opposed, at least partly because the NRA has told people that's it's a slippery slope to the government coming to take all your guns away. That's probably why gun sales spike after mass shootings, because people think that they're going to be prevented from buying them soon after.
There's also the politics. The people who really love their guns are concentrated in districts where they form a majority, and they are the single-issue, literally "I will not vote for you if you propose gun control" kinds of voters. Whereas gun control people are probably more numerous, but they're spread out, and they care about multiple other things.
Which all contributes to not much being done. I just don't think that it's all politicians or the NRA; the fact of the matter is that American voters do genuinely love their Second Amendment.

I'm doing mandatory anti terrorism training. Again. I work from home. All the buzzwords...
- unskippable cutscenes - interactive bullshit - terrible acting - text that is read out at half the speed you can read it - "you didn't click the right thing, start again"
I also don't need to see a video about how a fucking hotel receptionist would talk to someone. I am specifically in my role so I don't have to deal with people.

There is not. There's a hotel reception level, a train station level and a "pretend you work in a call centre and someone's rung up about a bomb" level.
It's shit.

At least if you are ever in a hotel reception when a terrorist walks in, you'll be prepared and react a la Tom Cruise.

Are there any questions on scenarios where you are either a raper or a rapee?

Sadly, most "solutions" to scenarios were to "offer good customer service".
Actual quote - "we have learned that good customer service can deter potential threats".
The idea being that if someone says "are you alright sir?" to a terrorist, they immediately remember their manners and leave.

I guess if you're going to get randomly shot anywhere, a hospital is probably the best place for it.
