Got my booster today. They had 2 people faceplant after getting the Pfizer because they refused to wait after getting it done. It's a few mins out of your life to make sure you don't react badly, people are fucking stupid. But people are busy, so, so, so busy.

No, we were mostly astrazenica down here for the first 2. Ah. I didn't know they were boosting with a different vaccine now.

AFAIK all the boosters are Pfizer. I'm surprised to have got mine so early as I'm not over 50 and not high risk.

You can mix and match boosters over here, get a different one from your main series. Might go for Moderna to mix it up when I get it.
I’ve had a mild cold over the last few days but luckily the three tests I’ve done (two at home, one lab) have all come back negative so I’m good to fly back to the UK on Monday. Just got to hope I don’t catch it while I’m over there, although it seems that it’s run so rampant in most circles it might as well be temporary herd immunity.

They're only using Pfizer here for the booster. After they discovered that the Astra Zeneca was a bit shit.

I'm down south too. Dorset. We just entertain tourists.

Joking aside, I'm guessing my surgery has more supplies due to slower take up on the booster than they expected.

They're pretty much sticking to 6 months to the day where we are.

That are changing when you can book the booster, so you can book from 5 months, for having at 6.

Has been six months for me now, but I've no idea if I'm eligible for a booster anyway (not over 50, or vulnerable).
Not that I guess it should matter for a while now that I've had (what I assume is) Delta.

I saw a thing on the news yesterday that said the concensus was basically that regardless of which vaccine or vaccines you had across doses one and two, having Pfizer for your third dose was the best option.

I’ve booked my booster for 2 weeks time, just wondered if there were any side effects? (Face planting the ground excepted) An elderly neighbour had hers on Saturday and was happily knocking about today, so fingers crossed. I was pretty ropey after the first AZ dose and a bit meh after the second.

No side effects for me after booster, but a friend was konked out for a day or so.
As with the other injections, affects different people in different ways.

Both in laws were wiped out after theirs on Friday. Had AZ previously without issue.

I was alright, had a painful arm for a bit and a headache all day yesterday.
I also know people that didn't get anything and one that was rough for a few days.
As with first doses it's a bit random.

Anyone know how long you have to wait for a booster after a Covid infection? Both my wife and I are due ours but tested positive 6 weeks ago.

Booked my wife and I's Covid boosters today. Mine's on Friday afternoon for that added "skiving off work goodness".
In other (I think unrelated) news, I've started smelling bacon all the time. Not sure what's going on there and reading about it online was "unsettling".

Grrr. The surgery usually have a clinic, so hopefully mine will be soon.

Was looking at the big ONS data thing yesterday, and I am not sure there is anything to suggest that a booster jab is going to help on top of two jabs and then getting covid.

Well, that's I thought. After that natural immunity wanes, that's the time to do it.

The lead guy on the Zoe project is saying that if that's your situation then you probably don't need the booster. Two jabs and an infection give 95% resistance.

Had my booster a week ago, no side effects, other than a sore arm. My partner has here's today, we both got the Pfizer dose.
Interestingly the pharmacy guy was telling my partner that they a phasing out the vaccine program, from March next year. And instead will just offer the new covid wonder pill if you get it. I'm guessing an annual booster, like with the flu jab, though... Anyone else heard this?

Heard they are adding it to the flu jab but nothing about phasing it out.

Booked mine for a couple of weeks away and, yep, it specifically says it’s a combined flu and covid job. A nice little pill they pop in the post to you sounds very hassle free in comparison, plus, easier to hide the v2 nanobots in.
