There's nothing they can do to change things. People are poorer in almost every wage bracket compared to 5 years ago. The state is even worse off. How many swimming pools/libraries/post offices/community centers have been closed since the Tories got into power? This is a government for the (rich) people remember, growing the economy and cutting taxes. Hahaha

Chinny reckon 🤔 www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-67511542The home secretary has admitted he used "unparliamentary" language to describe a Labour MP, a close source has said. James Cleverly had denied claims he called the Stockton North constituency a swearword in response to a question in the Commons from Alex Cunningham. The source said on Thursday: "James made a comment. He called Alex Cunningham a shit MP. He apologises for unparliamentary language." Mr Cunningham said it "simply was not true", adding he "did not believe him".

The next election is going to be 2 questions. Do you feel better off than 2010 or 2019? Same dates but do you feel anything is working as well as then?
Fairly sure the Tories have nothing to make those answers anything other than No and No.

That really would have been unacceptable.

How bad is he for Cleverly to say he’s shit? Does that mean he’s even worse than the rest of the Tory MPs who are definitely very shit?

I know he did a lot of things that were not good as PM but seeing Cameron in Israel on his first foreign trip he really looks like an actual grown-up compared to the cabinet back home.
Also, it is very sad that Labour/the country can’t say that maybe net migration being 750k was good and those people deserve to have the chance to live and build lives where they would like*
* although, I’m pretty sure it includes anyone whose student visa is for over a year so thats tens if not hundreds of thousands who aren’t sticking around forever.

I'm suspecting Cameron is thinking about positioning himself as leader again when it all goes belly up.

Tbf he didn't lose an election, leadership contest or get ousted. Every chance and he is somehow the least bad option.

That would be hundreds of thousands. 486,107 to be exact, about 150,000 more than those coming for work. www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-system-statistics-year-ending-september-2023/summary-of-latest-statisticsObviously, some of those will remain after they finish their studies, having made connections here, whilst others will return to their home country or go elsewhere. No idea the proportions that make up those groups.

Given how high the earnings threshold can be for the visas that follow a post-study work visa I’d say most probably leave

No he lost something that has done incredible harm to this country and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future and all because the cunt was scared of losing some fucking seats to UKIP.
He is a grade A tosser who is also a crook.

So it also includes people leaving who were students and have left after finishing their studies.

Also, it is very sad that Labour/the country can’t say that maybe net migration being 750k was good and those people deserve to have the chance to live and build lives where they would like If you look at the details then those claiming asylum are only about 75k, which is 10% of the total. Most of the people coming are coming on student visas, work visas (highly skilled or nurse, etc..) and their dependents, etc.. The nurse visa has had like a 58% increase. All the screams about 750k make it sound like it's entirely made up of people coming over in small boats. TBF, a lot of today's papers do mention the care workers. But I thought the government was *trying* to get more workers?! www.bbc.com/news/blogs-the-papers-67516234
