Maybe Sunak has only been half listening to everyone chanting about war crimes and he thinks they want someone like William Hague not politicians in the Hague

Cleverly walks out of No 10 and completely blanks the hacks outside, not even a good morning. Cameron possibly being made a Lord and then Foreign Secretary is not only bizarre the Brexit headbangers will not be happy. Yeah the Brexit voters loathe Cameron. Braverman potentially hoovered up a lot of UKIP type voters. Sacking her makes them question where they vote, Brexit voters will also question the Cameron appointment seeing it as a betrayal of Brexit. There's likely some cross over in the Venn diagram of those groups but it's still a big chunk of voters that won't vote Conservative.

Hopefully the disgraceful 'send migrants to Rwanda' plan will be struck down by the supreme court on Wednesday, putting another nail in the coffin of Braverman's political career.

I wonder if that’s tacit recognition the party need to step back towards the centre a bit, particularly in the context of getting rid of Braverman.

I wonder if that’s tacit recognition the party need to step back towards the centre a bit, particularly in the context of getting rid of Braverman. There’s a definite trend toward sensible haircuts and well fitted suits in both parties at the moment. It’ll probably work too. Not election winningly well but at least Cameron and Cleverley aren’t likely to request that the EDL assault the Policemen who are guarding elderly war veterans at a Remembrance service. Which is something of a positive step even if it is unbelievable that they’re trying it.

Well this is one of the weirdest reshuffles. Can't really work out the point, other than to advertise that not a single one of their 400 MPs is trust worthy enough to be Foreign Secretary.

It doesnt speak well that they have nobody left within the party who can be considered moderate enough to fit the bill, so they have to draft in off-shore resources.
'We need a centrist' 'We are all out!' 'Quick, somebody throw Cameron some ermine'
Absolute clown car.

I would take it mainly as them looking for ways to get any voters at all, which is just what they do all the time. Aside from casual cruelty I'm not sure the tories have any principles, everything's just motivated by hoovering up any voters they can think of at any given time.

It’s feels like a kid bringing his dad to sit in at school so no one picks on him.
Letting your mouth run off and stoking violence before getting the sack. Now that’s a lifestyle choice.

The appointment of Cameron and maybe a move back to the centre will shore up a few ‘lost’ voters. Can see a few people that maybe thinking of voting Lib Dem moving back. Hate to say it but it probably sensible stuff from the Conservative Party. Might not stave off an election defeat but it will make it a lot closer than what it currently is. There were murmurings Sunak may look to soften some of the brexit deal too, so it make sense.
Hopefully this is the start of putting ‘The Bastards’ back in their box.

If both major parties are going to be competing to be the most sensible going in to the next election then I'm all for it

It kind of makes sense to focus on not also being destroyed in areas more likely to vote tory long term, than try to rescue the red wall, which seems totally out of reach.
I think it's too late though, and Braverman and ilk will not go quietly into the night. 30p Lee is also still deputy chair.

I’m been trying to find that clip of Paxman interviewing Cameron about the Saudis where he refuses to answer the question and gives, verbatim, the same pre-cooked answer over and over again.

I'm sure Sunak will be popular in saying not a single one of the MPs that aren't presently in government was up to the job of Foreign Secretary while the bloke who stupidly ran the country onto the rocks with his referendum is clearly better than them.

So since Cameron beat Brown the Foreign Secs have been:
William Hague Philip Hammond Boris Johnson Jeremy Hunt Dominic Raab Liz Truss James Cleverley David Cameron
and these are the best they have to offer?
