I ended up switching to the YouTube stream, which the Inquiry is doing with comments and chat switched off unsurprisingly, as the constant "sorry for the swears" were actually stopping you hearing Cumming's answers.
Anywho if Cummings was the smartest person in the room in No 10 it shows just how fucking thick everyone else was, he's a moron.

You should’ve gone to his family’s nightclub in Durham. Absolute shitehole and we even knew it as underaged drinkers.

A friend got stuck in a shop in Manchester because of one of these marches and it prompted him to "find out about this Hamas stuff", as he saw support for that. There absolutely is a cross over between left leaning (and I wouldn't even say far left tbh) and pro-terrorist types. Hell, I remember during the 2000s when there were people saying "well what else was Bin Laden supposed to do?" You don’t have to look much with the far left, I’ve met a few socialist Celtic fans who are disturbingly pro IRA and now won’t shut up about israel It's more formal than that. If you remember Corbyn and Livingstone were the ones who invited Jerry Adams + IRA guests to the commons in the 80s. The IRA went to PLO training camps and maintained some sort of "alliance" between them. Dunno how formal that was. They obviously all overlap with Tankies as well, because the violence can be justified by the higher cause. Anyway I read a thing about it affecting politics in Ireland in the last few weeks: www.newstatesman.com/comment/2023/10/sinn-fein-northern-ireland-palestine-israel

Same!
I had somehow completely forgotten about the relationship between the IRA and PLO back in the day.
I had it filed away as "my enemy's enemy..." type thing, with whatever caused disruption to a western power was good for the PLO, so they provided guns and stuff. Sowing division and all that.
I never realised that this also applied to the idea of kinship with Republican citizens.

Might have to peruse the Sunday Times' Culture magazine's tv guide to see what letters/emails will have been sent in about this.

I think there were different BBC feeds. Anything going view TV News got the interruptions, but the other feed was direct and uninterrupted

Has the C-word ever made the front page of a British paper uncensored before?

Johnson was regularly on the front page during his time as PM.

Trowel 🏴 But then bizarrely they censor a five letter swearword just to the right of that. /tips hat Well played sir.
I'm pretty sure the Guardian has used cunt on the inner pages and I'm currently catching up on Newsnight on iPlayer and they warned of swearing so let "fuck pigs" through but bleeped the "cunt". I clearly mean the use of the c-word not the cunt that is Cummings as that would be a bit annoying.

There’s a hierarchy of swearing. OFCOM released a list of swear words ranked from mild to most offensive.

I loved the “pop-ins” stuff. Basically sneaky pop in to Johnson by folks as they know they can get him to change his mind in a 1:1 drop in chat. So huge decisions were discussed and made - then later pop-ins occurred and the slug shat himself and changed his mind. Utter cunt.

It's been well known for a long time that Johnson would say anything to please the person he was talking to, even if it contradicted what he was telling somebody else. The pop-ins are just another example of something that anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention would have already known.
As vile and ill-suited as Johnson was and no doubt carries the can for much of what went wrong, I suspect that the no. 10 approach to this inquiry will be to put all the blame on him. I'm sure he was responsible for a lot of the clusterfuck, but I also expect Sunak was neck deep in the callous approach that was taken. His responsibility will likely be a footnote.

I was paying attention, but thanks for suggesting I wasn’t. I have never heard of that term before, and while the general personality traits of Johnson were well known (for anyone paying the ‘slightest bit of attention’) having it all laid out starkly over WhatsApp messages in an official enquiry as part of official evidence is something I suggest nobody knew until now. Unless you were were personally right in the middle of the cabinet in 2020 and 2021, of course.

Sorry, that wasn't meant to be aimed at you in particular. I know everyone that comments here was paying attention.
Still though, I don't think anything that is coming out of this inquiry is surprising.

Breaking news. Tory MPs are a bunch of lying, corrupt, amoral cunts who are only there for their own benefit.
Coming up on the news at 10. Can dogs really not look up? We talk to experts

Tbh I'm not really surprised, they've been saying the quiet part, completely mask off regarding their disdain for the general public for the 13 years and how they talk about immigrants and refugees purely from a culture war POV really demonstrates how psychopathic a lot of them are. Unfortunately we like to think that there must be some vestige of humanity behind all the crowing and posing but no, they're cunts of the highest order.

Well Johnson and others do look like they've committed "Misconduct in Public Office" but it's incredibly unlikely it'll ever be actioned on.

It wasn't the right crisis for his skill set. See, Boris has a very specific set of skills. Telling bare faced porkies and waffling about Pepper Pig. Swine flu, he'd have nailed...... Possibly to a Jew.
