My son’s first school wears the same colour uniform as the local high school but the middle doesn’t conform so hopefully he’ll not grow too much between years 5 and 8

Private for primary level seems overkill to me. Unless they are all Needs Improvement. I know someone who is getting a private tutor for their 4 year old because he’s not at the standard of a 6 year old. Even more odd is she used to teach primary year 1 and 2 and is now full time at home. Some parents do weird shit and many think their kids should be geniuses.

I have and occasionally still do private tuition. I generally encounter parents who think/ know their kid is on the cusp or needs focused support to get over the line - normally a C/4 in GCSE or a certain grade at A Level.
I wouldn't touch pushy parents with a barge pole.

Really disappointed to see how FG has handled this school situation. If you really loved your kids, you should've bought multiple properties in different prime catchment areas at the point of conception. Then simply rent them out until the time comes to decide your child's fate.

We can all buy multiple properties cheap as chips, we're all loaded, do it for the kids etc (The internet is a weird place, so I realize this post was satire/irony)

You might do primary school to guarantee a place in a linked secondary school...
We are still considering it as there are barely any secondary schools in the borough.

Farage now whinging that the FA won't light up the Wembley arch with the colours of the Israeli flag in support of the country.
Someone please go back in time and make sure he doesn't survive that plane crash.

They should light it up in a rainbow. Everybody loves rainbows. Rainbows mean peace.

Yeah my Mum was a teacher and it was the 80s so also stay at home. So all my learning difficulties and problems at school probably got ironed out by just having a good parent. There's all those studies about getting a degree and a good degree from a good university correlates more with the amount of books in your house growing up than it does any kind of schooling.

The books thing is possibly a bit iffy though, as I've heard it argued that the number of books you have in your house often correlates to the financial status of the family. So it's basically saying that better off families have more books and more chance to get into good universities. I've filled my tiny apartment with as many books as I can, and continue to try and fail to get the kids to read any of them.

The Govt. was making all the big calls, when they needed to be taken, provided that they fitted around Dilyn’s walkies.

Sunak starting to wonder if using a slogan calling for change may not have been the best idea...

Sunak is the change candidate, everyone wants a change from him.
The Tory rump of 25% support would probably still vote blue even if Sunak came around their house and shat on their Sunday roast.

I mean, "I'm the candidate of change for this 13 year government that I will have been in charge of for at least a year and a half by the time there is an election" was always going to be hard sell.
That stubborn 25% really are destroying this country. How on Earth the Tories aren't the third or maybe even the fourth most popular party right now really is beyond me.

It's why FPTP needs to be thrown in the bin, "oh but under PR people like UKIP would win seats" so what? UKIP is currently our bloody government, having a small amount of more extreme politicians, of either wing, doesn't show the system has failed it shows it works.
