15 minute city is insane American bullshit about controlling where people go like there's Checkpoint Charlie every few blocks.
It's absolute insanity for the Tories to go on about it when pretty much everyone that lives in urban UK (and most of Europe) lives in 15 minute like places (without checkpoints) like this already and has done for centuries.

We're lucky we have campaigners to hold the government to account, like Rickie Lambert and Leilani, 43, from Bournemouth. Leilani says 15 minute cities are a big BUST! She says '15 minute cities are not viable, I like to drive my car to other places like the beach or Hadrians Wall'. She is sure to keep you aBREAST of any developments.

I may be wrong but I feel like Covid actually helped with reviving bricks and morter retail.
Everyone got a taste of living in a delivery only world and it was a bit shit. I'm sure there's greater numbers getting grocery delivery but whenever I've been into a high street or retail area in London is been rammed with people.
I still get plenty from Amazon but a lot of what they sell can be found cheaper else where.

I wouldn't put it past Labour to make every advance so as to look like they couldn't lose a general election, only for it to be completeley nobbed by Ed Miliband again.

I might’ve asked this before but what exactly is the problem with having everything you need available within a short walk from your home? Are you THICK?! It means the councils can control your every move, they tell you when you drive, when to go shopping, when to have your affairs, when to go harass refugees at a local hotel, after that, well the only logical outcome is that they'll put you in a reeducation camp governed by Sadiq Khan where they'll force Sharia law on you. It's only a matter of time. And all at 20 MPH!!!

There’s a video doing the rounds of a Welsh woman driving behind some cyclists, complaining that the 20mph speed limit prevents her from overtaking them because they’re going at 20mph too

I wonder what the crossover is between people who hate these oppressive 15-minute cities, and those who wish society was still like the 1950s when everyone was born round the corner from where they lived and died, and men would go to work whilst their wives walked down the road with their shopping bag to the local butcher, baker etc.

Amd minimising waste. Definitely spending less now we've gone back in stores. Really? I find the opposite. Online e shopping is so good for not picking up extra shit I don’t need. Friday morning, I get in the app, hit the favourites up, pick the chit I need and a few extras I search for and Saturday morning it’s delivered. No idea what the 15 minute city shit is about but don’t take my online shopping away. Do it at work and it saves two hours at the weekend.

We do both. If I’ve got time, I prefer to do a manual shop. I prefer browsing a shop shelf and get inspired to cook a bit more, vary up the food.
If we are slammed, can’t be arsed or just need to fill the cupboard up quick we load up our standard Asda basket to be delivered the next day.
Basically, I haven’t got the patience or concentration span to actually shop online properly.

I think that's it. With online shopping. I'd just buy the same stuff as i couldn't be arsed to hunt about for what we actually need. And it would always be last minute.
In store, I do it on a Saturday morning whilst my daughter is swimming so have to get it done in about 30 mins, so there's no time for browsing. In Lidl no less (which has also had a big impact on cost). Need to supplement with a trip to the local Tesco Express for the few bits they don't sell but not much.

We do a mix of online and in store. If we have a week of nothing to do we go to the supermarket for a big shop, or if we don’t want anything interesting. Ocado is good for slightly less common stuff and stocking up on heavy things (tinned tomatoes, oil etc).
I’d be happy just doing it online but it definitely takes up more of my time as I edit it repeatedly throughout the week. I wouldn’t use any of the others for online around here, one time I ordered a load of stuff from Asda and all they turned up with was 1 (wrong) pizza from a £60 shop.

The local Lidl. Or Aldi. One of them - has just installed a load of self serve counters. In theory I'm thrilled but it's made them more annoying.
They slightly treat you like you have no idea what you're doing and it's still led to massive queues, worse than before, in some cases.
