Has anyone ever actually read Time? I thought it was one of those doctor waiting room table filler things that are just blank pages inside Yes, but only because I inherited the subscription that my stepfather's elderly, dementia-suffering father was convinced/conned into. He was also paying for Virgin TV even though he had Sky, and we found a load of fake Rolexes and Freemasons stuff in the back of his wardrobe.

My dad was one and a few of them came to the funeral. Sounds like a boring old man's drinking club.
Also I fell at the first hurdle as I have absolutely no belief in god or a higher being.

I visited the Guildford lodge a bunch of times not long after it got built (which is about twenty years ago), a fair amount of the older local college (that I worked at) staff were members and me and bunch of other people in my department would go for quiz nights.
It was about as secretive and mysterious as the Rotary Club. At least while we were there, obviously all the getting people off police charges and other dodgy stuff happened afterwards.
I certainly didn't get the impression it was the Illuminati.

That's exactly what the Illuminati would want you to think.

A neighbour friend of mine is dodgy handshaker. It is definitely an old man's drinking club with benefits. The whole thing cracks me up.

The lodge near here does good barbecues in summer. I think it's because they have a lot of US bikers as members and those guys strike me as the kind of guys who are good at cooking steaks.
There seems to be a lot of study involved to become a member, which seems unnecessary for steaks and beer.

Surely someone on here is one, or am I going to have to join and report back?

Never been approached. I was asked to join the Rotary Club/Round Table but found that preposterous enough. Bunch of self-important twats.

Each lodge is slightly different from what I can tell. Some are really into the pomp and ceremony, while others just call everyone "brother", do a funny handshake then get on with drinking.

I am concerned how people will vote, despite tories fucking this country over for the last 13? years, the average moron will say "yeah but yeah but... or don't want corbyn as PM in 2024!"
I saw coworkers vote for trump as they hated Clinton as they were not even trump or republican supporters!

He usually releases those photos with him surrounded by journalists like that tangled meme but this time he’s on his own. That’s how serious he is about whatever he’s pretending to do.

"Well Prime Minister, you have certainly vanquished your enemies. The elementary school, the local tavern, the old age home. You must be very proud." "No, not while my greatest nemesis still makes it difficult for me to read. I call this enemy, the sun."

Petition Call an immediate general election Worth signing. They always pay a lot of attention to these, like they did for that one in Wales against the 20mph speed limit. I'm sure they will listen to this one in just the same way.

They'll certainly ignore it but given the numbers they'll have to have a debate in Westminster Hall and at least Sunak can't spout the bollocks in interviews about no one wanting a general election when hundreds of thousands of people have said they would.

I have signed but not expecting any election till the tories have squeeze the most amount of money of the UK into their pockets or their friends

I'd be interested to hear 5 things that Labour are promising* to do that will change their lives for the better? Just pick five things the Tories have done in the last six months and add “We won’t …” in front. … tank the economy thro’ gross arrogance … plan to abandon human rights … cosy up to Russian-funded populist fascists-in-waiting … debase the parliamentary system … create a grotesque redistribution of public money to partner private industry
