It’s always really hard to get the flu vaccine around here. Before school age we looked for our kids and the doctors didn’t have any, same for pharmacists. They also don’t have enough pharmacists.

It was bad according to my UK coworkers last year trying to get the flu vaccine, so many had to pay at boots. Normally cheaper at tesco but they didn't have any and other chemists as well
Also, eewww - tories in the rivers

Yeah, the hardest part was finding somewhere to do it. I get it because of my limp lungs but finding a pharmacy to give it me was like pulling teeth. And even then I had two appointments cancelled because the pharmacist was out.
Devolving treatment to them is proving a great idea

Any particular reason why they can't offer jabs to younger and non-vulnerable people willing to pay for it? Is it that much harder to produce than flu jab that they wouldn't be able to produce enough? I often mean to get the flu vaccine, albeit I normally never get around to it. I would also happily never get around to getting the Covid jab if I was able to have the intention of getting a paid for one. WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT OF THE NHS But you do have to pay for a flu vaccine (if you are young and don't qualify for a free one). Same with many other drugs. I'm sure there are many that would be willing to pay for a Covid vaccine if they could. More people who get it would be good thing. Plus, Tories would love us spending money on it, I'm sure. So, I ask for a third time, why isn't there a paid for option for this, when there is for another vaccine? I can only assume there must be a logistical reason that means they are unable to produce enough or it costs a lot more to produce.

It's obvious isn't it ? There is no such thing as covid or long covid. It's just a variant of flu and as long as you've not got underlying health issues you need just to get on with it.
The 1 million plus people who have suffered long covid are just malingerers looking for an excuse not to go back into the office.

I bet if someone high up in government had family links to the covid vaccine suppliers then it would be available to buy

Maybe I'm too kind, but I was assuming the post was sarcasm. Me too! Is it just me or have a lot of folk forgotten the state the NHS was in, particularly ICU, and the numbers who died from Covid. Seems to be an effort to rebrand it as harmless and we were mistaken to react to it in the way we did (from the usual right wing suspects...).

It was written in the style that GFF used to write in when making a point - but looks like it is just an old time lurker.

While we’re putting things to rights AIDS is basically being a bit run down, with extra scabs.

Such a plague selective amnesia is. And so many of ARE wonderful politicians affected!
Hey, maybe we should be looking into a cure for that instead of wasting time with some hoax virus from Chynah that hasn't even killed that many people
(If this post were any more dripping with sarcasm it'd short-circuit my phone with water damage)

I recall CliveDunn from the old place no? I took it as sarcasm. Of course it's sarcasm, sadly though given the refusal to offer widespread boosters it's probably unofficial government policy. That is because the tories are evil cunts and anyone who votes for them deserves my pity.

It's true isn't it, it feels like Braverman is more like our prime minister at the moment given how much fucking publicity she gets.

Thoroughly amoral, and utterly reprehensible.
The only thing I don't get is why I'm mildly surprised.

Pragmatically - they've gotten chummy with Russia and it's probably best have them looking West than East?

Sunak probably wants to sell more bombs to MBS so he can kill more Yemenis. Having Saudi involved in the new UK/Italy/Japan fighter programme is something that Sunak will want to happen as it'll help reduce costs, Yemen will probably cease to be before they ever fly though.
