3 left, 1,100 is not impossible A candidate died before the result was declared, so the count has been abandoned. Under the rules they now have to re-run that vote and another two vacant seats. Ugh... Results are finally in and we managed to shed a whopping -1 con (down from 21) in my area. It's still NOC, and 3x green in my ward, but it would've been nice to see the fuckers trounced.

That's 2 Tory candidates dead during this set of elections. Doesn't do much to change your mental impression of what they are typically like.
(Even though the second one wasn't much older than most of us)

They grown them on the vine, though. I saw that Cambridge elected an 18 year old, Lucius, to become a councillor.
Edit: typo makes me sound like a bumpkin

Shame it’s all going to be completely overshadowed/ignored in favour of our national bootlicking festivities.
A good day to bury bad news, I guess

Down with this sort of thing etc. Scary. I know coronations don't happen every day, but still not a good precedent.

Sunak is reading something now. He’s doing it standing up, there’s a shortage of seats

One result left to be counted:
There is just one result to come in the English local elections. 229 of the 230 councils have declared. The final council, Redcar and Cleveland, will resume counting on Tuesday 9 May.

Funny he says that, considering he has his job because of some people with "silly boards" (probably pitchforks and such, at the time) managing to wrest governing powers from the monarchy...

I cannot believe Truss was there for the ceremony. I'd say you have to serve at least 3 months as PM before being eligible for an invitation.

The current rules probably assume - 1 - no one that shit would ever stand 2 - even if they did, no one would be stupid enough to select them 3 - even if they were that stupid, anyone surviving only a few weeks before being forced out in failure, would be ashamed, certainly far too ashamed to attend such events As with pretty much every other fucking so called rule in this country, nothing can cut through the brass neck of a modern Tory.

I'd say you have to serve at least 3 months as PM before being eligible for an invitation. And any bloody caretaker period doesn't count.
There shouldn't be a caretaker period in my opinion, If their party has voted to remove them, it should be that's it! you've got 48 hours to get out of Downing Street or we're sending the SAS in to remove you.
